A direct hit from ROD sent the craft to veer off course and was downed at the Southern foothills of the Blueray Mountains. Velocity and angle of decent implied that any threat was seemingly negated.

The main bulk of the swarm is heading South East towards Hive city Prime Itself. Our limited knowledge of these creatures is that they are heading to the largest available biomass ie The Aldi Agricentre situated further to the South East.
The risk of collateral damage to the planetary atmospheric generators situated within Hive Primus must be negated.
Deploy emergency defence lines and stop the threat at all costs.

I hope that got your attention, i've been simmering away with this one for a while and finally exposed my secret desires to my regular opponent.
oth of us have limited time at the moment so this campaign will be going glacialy slowly but seeing the state of the Campaigns forum we shouldn't fall off the front page.
Rough maps have been drawn, some campaign specific terrain has been built, models are being painted and rules written.
We're both pretty casual when it comes to our games so will be winging most of this with me acting as GM. Basically if it seems right we'll make a rule for it..

Garbled communications have been received for a Ratling Foot patrol, Recon units sent to investigate and report back. Unusually strong interference on all coms signals, possible solar CME, some Tech Savants point to recent meteor/ship crash however chances of this are rated at a million to one.

This is a 500pt Combat Patrol type force I've assembled for some opening salvos.



Recon Force Alpha



Led by Junior Officer Simerson in his Salamander Command Car, this is a Forge World unit I converted out of a Ramshackle kit. It's basically a transportless Fast Chimera that issues orders as a CCS, I've never used it! So be good to finally field it. Also the ever ubiquitous Ratlings.



Newly finished Scout Sentinel squadron, weapons are magnetic but here they're armed with 2xACs and and a ML, also 3 hunter killers for close encounters.



All backed up with 2 infantry units with flamers in Chimeras (one with a stubber, the other another HK). This is just part of my complete army check my Blog (link in sig) for more.

Hope to find the time to use this little group soon.

That new terrain is looking really good, those mangrove roots are a great touch. I like the new Tervigon too. Looking forward to shooting at it.

I'm not sure if i'll run the list in the pics, I'll probably do away with the HQ choice all together if you're cool with that. It's a bit of a squeeze to make it work at that points cost.
Probably more likely to go for all stealers and lictors and perhaps some spore mines for represent some fallout?
Suppose it all depends on the scenario but I liked the idea of playing on a full sized board with so few models and dense terrain. Perhaps some sort of length of the table objective gathering/booby trap type thingy?

Sounds good, feel free to just pick whatever you feel is representative, so no HQ or just a Broodlord etc is fine, mine is a Forgeworld armoured car for crying out loud.

Yeah a big table with maybe hidden deployment might be fun.

Updated first post with badly done map! Should make things a little clearer for the meantime.
I've started work on a set of Mighty Empires map tiles but they're a little way off.

The above map looks ace, next week is looking busy but maybe a quickie is possible the following. The mighty empires board sounds exciting.
I've ordered some minor reinforcements for the Marines (a Pred) and some inks, thinking about some slight weathering for the IG armour.

Cool, I've had a play around and I reckon that that style of map will still work fine when things get a little complicated.
I wish I was a bit better with photoshop and stuff like that.
Perhaps i'll learn a bit as this progresses.

Dude, that looks ace, are you going to make the guy detatchable and/or create a base sized divot/insert for him to hunker down in until he's recovered?
It'd be odd dragging the whole sentinel around the board as the relic. I haven't managed to find a Magraggepilot guy yet in my piles of junk (i'm watching one on ebay though).
I did find a medic model fro that old command squad though. He'd be good as an NPC of sorts for something too.

Yeah, got loads for my Dark Eldar. I didn't want to use flying stands because they're crap, can't see myself doing much on those for a while.

Yeah, I will need them at some point but certainly not in the next 6 months or so. My first 2K batch of DE are all built based and ready to go, they just need painting before I build any more.
