Blood Sacrifice to Khorne

So I have been playing around with a 3D modeler, and I am working a scythe, once I am sure of the measurements and such I will get a few printed. Debating if it needs any more details or not, so far this is what I have.

A decent start but there are a few thing that i would change/add.

First i'd change the blade. A scythe makes swiping cuts and the sharp edge is on the inside of the blade, But with it curved like yours there is only limited use of this side.
So either reduce the curve of the blade or tilt the blade by increasing the angle between blade and staff.

I'd also make the power cord on the blade smaller and curve it with the same curve as sthe blade itself. With it beeing straight it clashes with the blades curve.

And personally i'd also add more techy bits on the back of the blade and maybe along the weapon. Maybe attach some form of energy source thingy over the first handle and add a cable conecting the techy bits on top and the energy source.

I agree with BTLDoomHammer. Reduce the curve of the blade, perhaps making it longer.

Also maybe think about adding trinkets of the army that its for. maybe some chain wrapped loosely around it or something. IDK its your sculpt, its all down to personal preference at the end of the day.

This is just the first step, once I am happy with this I will get one printed, and see if I need to make any changes... Some decoration will work, but seeing as the goal is a print not sure too much ornamentation will work.

Working out a new blade now, which will mean the power stud gets a make over, not sure about power cables, a long cable would look cool but that will probably have to wait till after the scythe is printed.

The blade looks much better and with the details on the staff it has much more character. Good work with that.

Do you have a specific size/army/model in mind for which you are designing this?
Because the staff is rather thin and you might not be able to print it in smaller scales as it is too thin. AS far as i can remember shapeways has a tutorial somewhere where they adress stuff like minimal thickness of parts and details.
