So I just picked up a gk army from my buddy. When I got it, was mostly unassembled and badly painted. I spent a couple days putting things together and gave up.

I then had a idea. If I start a project blog on dakka, I will be forced to finish my army! If I don't the shame and ridicule will be to much to stand. So here is my goal; 5000 points painted in one week. Three colors on each model and based. Now considering I've never finished painting a full army before I switch armies this is a challenge for me.

I am going to cheat a little however. I have an airbrush and a thunderhawk so that should make things easier.

Let's see if I can do it!

The guy I got it from played a very heavy henchman list filling out each troop choice.

So after trying to fix my air hose that my cat chewed through, I managed to get 30 terminators, 10 purifiers, 3 rhinos, and a grand master based coated. Later today I'll get some force weapons done.

I'm feeling good about this! It might just get done.

Finished the force weapons on ten grey knights. Added 2 dread knights and 3 storm ravens as well.

I have one thing I'd like to point out, your dreadknights have 1 too many weapons on them. nothing more frustrating than finding out that model you painted up is illegal.

Well you terrified me a little. However in the codex it says its legit as long they are not the same weapon. They have psycannon and incinerator.

this is with an optional left hand Vulcan cannon. comes with the right Vulcan cannon and a sword normally. Height wise its about an inch smaller than a warhound titan, but that's the rules you run it as and it fits the aesthetics rather well in my opinion. the 15mm version of this is being shown at GENCON right now and has all the same details and is the size of the dreadknight. they also are releasing the Mortis version which is less armored than this one, but has a skull head

Though the Airbrush will probably help a heckkkkkk of a lot.

After the last couple of days I've decided I may have set my hopes a little to high. Especially considering I have a tournament tomorrow. I'm still going to give it a go though.

I guess they were but still you've got more done then I gotten done with my empire in the past year and a half!

Well I didn't make my goal. :( Real life sought to stop it seems. I did manage however to base coat and finish power weapons on 30 terminators. I finished 2 storm ravens, 15 purifiers, 2 dread knights, 4 rhinos, coteaz , 10 terminators. So all in all about 2-3k depending on upgrades. Also won a local tournament with a henchman list and Necrons allies. Beat a space wolves list and 2 elder.

While I didn't reach my goal I'm absolutely happy with my progress and think I can get everything painted by months end.

Bad luck on not making your goal mate. Good effort though.

I don't think i could paint Grey Knights. I'd hate painting that much metal on in one hit.
