Hey guys. Some of you have already seen my old pictures of my grey knights and such. However, I am also trying to field a Black Templar army (one of the most badass chapters ever to exist) and I am trying to practice my work on my tanks and getting a more professional look. Not just tabletop standard.

So this will be for anything I am currently working on while my other thread is for my completed figures: http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/550537.page

So let me start with my almost done Templar Rhino I started a while back.
This is the Before picture:

This is the AFTER:

So I think it looks better than before but I still have to touch it up a bit. A few Purity Seals here and there and maybe some more Black Templar thingies on it if I can get my hands on it (That damned upgrade kit is hard to find cheap). I also kinda suck at those lights on the front I know.
I also still need to hit up the front a bit (You can still tell it isn't as good a coat as the rest on the bumper area) but I hope when it's done it will be commission standard.

Looking pretty good, I'd recommend adding some highlights to the black on the hard edges.

Well I got to work last night and managed to pump this guy out. Now he isn't fully finished, I still have to touch a few tiny little spots up here and there such as the Aquillas on the doors and maybe the one white fleck here and there, but other than that I am pretty much set to go wth this one.
Behold my Revamped Black Templar Rhino/Razorback!

I am also working on a Legion of the Damned squad for a friend, so I may as well post it here as well:

So what do you guys think?

I like it so far, Are you gonna add any bone coloring to the legion or just go with more of a flame and metal motiff?

I like the effect of the highlight on the Razorbacl, but I think when you touch it up either smooth out the lines to be smaller and only on the edges, or widen them and smooth them. Either way the edges are a little rough, but that's why we do touch ups! Are you thinking of doing any weathering or mud on the bottom?

I think I'm just gonna stick with the Flames and Metal stuff for the LOTD guys.
As for the Razorback, I aso thought the lines were a bit rough, so I will most likely go back and smoth out the lines. For the weathering effects for the bottom, I might go into it. I would have to eperiment with some throw away models or something before I try it. I don't like my miniatures looking very dirty. But if I'm gonna do commissions I need to know how to do it and learn to do it good. So epect to see some muddy weathering and things of that nature in the future.

So I got around to another Paladin and I took the time to practice the OSL (I think, it may be another style or whatever) on the bottom tip of my halberd to give it a try. I didn't want to do the weapon in case I screwed up so I did the bottom part because I there's never anything special about that spot. It's always just the same color as the rest of the stick or gold. So I thought, why the hell not.

So, what do you think?

So I started custom Ghost Knights. I only have one nearly done for now due to time constraints, but this is what I got so far:

This is how I set him up. I took a bro banner and used a hobby drill to make a hole in the top and bottom of the shaft. I then took a paperclip and cut a small piece of it off.

from there I drilled a hole in the base of my model for a spot to put the banner.

now that I did that I placed the pieces of the paperclip into the holes after putting a teeny little bit of glue into the hole to make sure it stays.

So now whenever I feel like it I can say my ghost knight has the bro banner, or if I wanna save points or just run a halberd instead of the banenr, I can then remove it from the base and all is well.
I put a piece of the paperclip in the top section of the banner so if it ever falls it won't just break off as those pieces seem to do. I've already done this with every banner I have gotten my hands on so far and half my army has metal wire inside their joints and limbs so if they ever fall they won't just fall apart. It makes finishing your model take so much longer depending on how much you do but I say it's totally worth it.
