So I realised that depending on where I shot I can get 6 DV bikes for 40$.
But they are covered in RV icons. Does anyone know a way I can turn them into regular bikes?

since no one else has posted,
wing thingies: cut off
actuel markings on the bike front: simply paint over, they blend quite nicely if you pretend they don't exist.
sorry im not much help

Get the DA Battleforce (former Ravenwing Box) at some cheap reseller and sell those Attack Bikes and Land Speeders at ebay?

I cut off the wings and left the iconography. Turned out okay, I'm considering getting another batch. Easy enough to magnetize too, or convert as needed.

Clippers, file, hobby knife, patience.
I've done a couple, they aren't too difficult to clean up (scrape what you can, file the rest down). Although saying that I did leave the cowls with the 'winged' look, just because I think it looks quite cool.

Snip, snip, snap, clip.

I did the same below.

Wow smack, those look a lot better than I would have anticipated.

I am surprised at how good it looks without the traditional faring on the bike.

Did you just cut off the wings from the center piece?

Was there a need to bulk up the rest of the bolter?

thanks for sharing.

Looks like he just left the wings out of the assembly process entirely.

He has the center piece that the wings are normally attached two (the center light and wings are a single piece on the dv models) - so minimally he cut them off...which makes mounting a bit tricky, but doable.

It also looks like there might be some other piece behind the bolters to ...bulk them up a bit.

Overall I think they look great.

Thanks people

Genuinely just did one clean cut of the wings before attaching the bolter shields, as I didn't have resources to add any extras.

(The DV set was what got me back into 40k so I've been slicing away all DA and Ravenwing icons since Christmas), I've just noticed the small Ravenwing icon on the bolt pistol bikes bolt pistol.

What i did on my DV bikers wing shields is cut them into the desired shape and then simply filled in the wing structure with putty and sanded it smooth. This way i kept the shields but removed the wing structure.

Those are only wip shots and i turned them into chaos bikers but the shield will also work on loyalists.

You might have a problem with the robed biker though.

Here's another example of what you can do,
As you can see I've completely reconstructed the handlebars but rest assured it's simple to cut away the wings from the headlight and still have it sit in place without additional fitting.
Spoiler:

As for the iconography, use a sharp knife (Stanly, Xacto, Utility) and carve away the top layer of detail.
From there you can carve away thin layers until it is close to the shape and surface it's on. Do not attempt to carve off the entire symbol unless it is tiny or you risk gouging into the model.
After that file or sand the area smooth.
The iconography on the chest is a bit tougher but you can remove the sword piercing the skull to make it appear as a regular skulled torso.
All the stuff in the bike is easy to do as it's mostly bigger icons.

Hope this helps
Peace

I personally just shaved off the wings on the heads and the front wheel bumpers. Then clipped and filed the little rooster tail feather thing off and sanded flat. I left the front cowl wings because all space marines believe in an eagle symbol of some sort for something.

FYI hotsauce I hate you for this thread ;p
because prices are slowly skyrocketing on DV bikes and I still need like 18 more ;p. I found them for 14$ a set and bought 27 now the lowest I've found is like 16-20 booo ;p
