I'd say a wash would help it out and then some highlighting but looking good so far!

Definatly needs some sort of shadows and highlights. Great start though
Washes are going to be the easiest way to get shading done, giving a reasonable result with very little effort. One tip for washing I have is to have the model upside down while the wash drys, this lets gravity pull the wash into area's that will be on the underside once its turned the right way up again and tends to give a more natural shading.

it has some ink wash on there now ... but i may need to apply again or darken the wash up more ... mixed three washes ...
Sepia, Black, Green ... and did each relating area .. with some black on the purple cloth and sepia on the yellow ...
i know the light hides some of it as well .. but it is fairly faint ... didnt want to mix the washes to dark.... but may need to add a few more drops to each bottle to give it a little bit more pigment...
will give a few drops in each a try and see the results again, then i am debating about giving 'glazing' a try with the same color paint i used for the part and a small dab of white added to it ... and thin it down a lot to try to highlight the more exposed areas ...

I can't comment about recipes for wash's hehe, I mix them up fresh each time I use inks, and likely waste a far bit of it every time I do it.
But i just put some matte medium and flow aid into awell of my pallete, and add 1 or 2 drops of ink depending on the colour... black seems stronger than the others in my inks so usualy is just 1 for black.
But the amount of matte medium is probably never the same lol. I just mix it by eye every time. ; reason being is that I dont have a bottle of distilled water, and frankly am too lazy to go get one if I were to leave tap water stood in a bottle for days/weeks/months I'd expect it to go a bit funky over time. Even boiled water will still do it, distilled is the only way to stop it happening.

25ml matte medium
20ml distilled water
5ml flow aid
then 30 to 40 drops of ink.

finished touching up the greenstuff areas and added another coat of wash to it .. also adjusted my camera settings some so it wouldn't wash the photo out as badly ...
going to let the ink dry for a day or two then do some metallic wear and some sort of highlighting on the material and skin ... then i think i will be about as done as my skill will currently allow.

Looking good dude, love the pilot head!!! have you thought about painting the veins on his arms? I tend to mix a bit of the green I used for the skin and some pink. It seems to give the skim some extra depth. Cant wait to see the finished look dude.

thanks, yeah the veins are one thing i am thinking of doing for sure ...
also wanting to do some highlighting or fading on the goggles before putting a gloss varnish on the glass area so they stand out more ...
still need to figure out what to do with the eyes ... they are recessed so far in that it was difficult getting the white in there ... (guess next time i do the eyes before even bothering with the green.. but live and learn) ...
on the teeth after i put a dropper of red ink wash in the mouth area going to carry a little of that mixed with a sepia onto the teeth then highlight the tips again with white ...
