I love painting my own figs, so I won't be customer, but I was secretly hoping you'd create a blog after I saw your Quest for Perfection Thread.

The red on the tech marines armour is amazing... So much depth. I'm not too keen on the power axe green to blue, but that's just a personal choice. Good luck with commissions!

Hey thanks Bobarum and Mr Sighs. I do hope I get more commissions.
Glad you like the red it took a lot of layered inks and washes to get that colour.

Jimsolo - That's ok. I'm confused though- why would it be bad not to say? Not that I would do that anyway, I want you all to know that I paint for cash! Otherwise I wont get any customers.
Thanks bonde and Chris_P.

I do do commissions for overseas. You would have to pay more for postage though! The techpriests and servitors went to the USA. Thanks for your comments!

Ok, that´ll sound like bs but your work might be the best thing I have ever seen. In my eyes your style is just perfect and I gotta admit that I wish I´d be able to paint like that...
I have no idea why but your minis don´t look as if they were only 28mm...
Do you work with a brush or do you use an airbrush?

I use brushes. I have small sable brushes from Rosemary & Co and an "insane detail" brush from Army Painter. And a great drybrush which is an old chisel ended watercolour brush.
Thanks for the compliment! If you wanted to try and emulate the style I recommend getting the vallejo wash set and some P3 inks, especially armour wash, They are my staples.

Latest work, and the last thing on my waiting list. A very oldschool techmarine!
I'm all free now if anyone wants to commission me, I have very reasonable prices considering the time I spend on them.

Fantastic stuff. I love your style. Your minis have a sort of texture to them (in a good way!) that makes the flat surfaces look a lot more interesting and realistic than the flat, airbrushed look.
I hope you get some really good business.

Wow thanks velour fog (love that name). I agree the texture does give more realism!
And thanks LutherMax!
No Commissions left to paint now. I need a commission soon or I will starve! Honest. Perhaps it will help if I am less cagey about prices.
Roughly speaking I am charging minimum wage for my painting ATM. That's £6.31 an hour. As a rough guide it would take me 4 hours to do a normal sized character standard work so that's £25. Or I could probably knock up a 5 man squad of high tabletop standard in 10 hours so £63.10, if they were squats it would be quicker, say 6 hours (£38). I also charge for postage back to you, and an extra £2 per model for clean up and assembly (unless its a techmarine with 6 arms, then I will need to charge more). I am extremely perfectionist about prep so you can expect to get you moneys worth there. If I like your model I may even polish it with jewelers rouge for free.
I will accept payment by paypal in which case I will want half upfront (non-refundable) and the other half upon delivery. If you want to pay by cheque I will happily accept but I will need all the payment at once and will have to wait for it to cash before I post.
Finally I would just like to say that I will do my best to paint everything to the highest standard (roughly within the time agreed) and I think this is a real bargain. I'm keeping my prices low atm because I would much rather be doing this for minimum wage than shop work. At some point if my work proves popular I will increase prices so get em while they're hot!

You're probably wise keeping your prices low to start to encourage business, but I'm certain you can do much better than minimum wage in the long term. You have a lot of talent there.
Are you posting on other forums? You could also make a website on google sites if you haven't already. Apparently that's really easy (I haven't tried it personally, but it's what I've heard). You could put a contact email in your sig as well as a link to your site.
Just thinking of things to send business your way really.

Lovely stuff Weety... Especially like the pallid skin on the servitors (v gritty & suggestive of transformation from organic to mechanic) and the rainbow effect on the Techmarine's axe (how'd you do it?)... And tommse is right - something about your models does make them look a larger scale, be it detail, technique, photography, I dunno but it looks top notch!

Hey thanks for stopping by archroy. My rainbow axe is wetblended usingvallejo washes that have dried out a bit. I start with yellow and blend in a cherry red then blue. When I painted it I was thinking of the way iron in a forge glows when its heated and slowly fades down the colour spectrum.
Velour_fog that's a good idea I'll get on that. I used to get £10 an hour doing pet portraits! Horses, budgies, flamingos etc. But this is more fun so for now at least I don't mind getting peanuts.
Hi paradigm and thanks for commenting.
