Subject: Learning to play the Morats (thoughts on list)
How is this for a start? I read the Morats start to shine more around 200 pts then 150 and since I am learning I went without any link teams even though I could link the Morats and Anyat.

I run a similar list with Morats, the Van+Anyat team is a mint source of scoring for ITS. What I recommend you do, is spend your remaining 6 points on upgrading two of the Vans to forward observer. That gives you two cheap scorers and flashers plus an effortless VP if you happen to grab the FO mission
I find the Sogarat an overpriced pile of grab tbh... better to find 20pts to upgrade to a Raicho. Same dakka, tougher, and waaaaaaay faster
Yaogat needs smoke (ie, Datz) to really deliver, and ideally a better backup weapon for when the Panzerfaust runs dry
Where the heck are the pretas at? They are one of the best warbands in the game, once you try them you'll always throw a couple in every list. They're amongst my fav units in any game I've ever played.
No comment on the Zerat. Only time I used one a pack of antipodes ate her face off with the first order of the game
And yeah, with Morats and CA in general you'll find yourself with much better options at high points due to the priciness of our stuff

Not the most elegant list, since I'm forcing myself to expand the starter and not have redundant units (like it did with my Tohaa), but it still looks like a lot of fun. I'll proxy Raktorak as the Vanguard Hacker since he looks different enough, and the Sogorat Fauerbach as the HMG Lt.
I love the idea of the Oznat being able to join a link team of Gakis and Pretas, so I just had to include a few. Reminds me of the movie Predators, the Predator with the attack dogs. Also I get to use the mighty Raicho.

The Pretas & Gakis are actually pretty nasty for their points - that 12" move in one order and the chain rifle attack is quite effective, and with mine-dropping they can become quite an effective and cheap area denial tool. Also, everyone loves exploding units Conceptually, I also think they are a really cool way of making the Morat force seem more 'alien'. Only negative I can think of actually is the more expensive price (in real money) of the boxset!

Had to look twice when I noticed someone had finally responded
Thanks for the feedback as for the Pretas , I now own some in prep for the Morat Starter at the end of the month, I also picked up a Rasyat to play with, I need to get painting but I am holding out for a step by step on the new Morat scheme from the studio.
I still think the Oznat is best linked with Gakis and pretas simply for the Predator vibe. Also it's got a light smoke launcher, which is pretty useful.

Not only that but the Hungries Control device is a big deal.
It lets you form a Fireteam of the Oznat and Hungries, with the Hungries becoming Regular and Not Impetuous.

Question - in Campaign Paradiso the unit entry for the Oznat simply says 'The Hungries Baiter' as equipment, with no reference to what that is. It it simply a Hungries Control Device?

Yup. I think they were going to call it something else originally but then never bothered to change it.
Look in the "Equipment" section of Paradiso and the Hungries Control Device is in there.

Sweet Mother CB is making it hard for me to resist further collection of the morats. I mean I own more MAf models then any other army so logic would dictate I would collect.
I think these guys could arm wrestle TAGs and win.
