Hi guys this is my first time using them and as you can see it looks abit crap. I wanted it too look like black dust/mud but it didn't work.

Any ideas ??

It looks fine to me. Like they've been stomping through mud.

I'm guessing you didn't want a bunch of mud on them and just wanted some faint dust. In that case, either thin the pigment much much more and brush it lightly on the legs. You can even drybrush the armor color back over the top of the weathered areas after that. Either that or simply drybrush the pigment on.

In order to get a dry layer of dust/ mud you have to use a varnish first and layer it to get the desired result. Dust should be added later after the mud. IMHO.

Dust and mud are two different things, I am not sure how you would achieve the look of one with out the look of the other, do you want it to be wet, dry or wet chunky or dry chunky? Also I would imagine you used a black powder? If so a little, and I mean a LITTLE goes a long way, try using less of it.
