Recently games workshop decided to can one of their all-time favorite games and i thought why not try and make my own
using gw bits and a few off-brand things too.

I had some spare drop pod bits from the interior and some necron barrels, a few gothic bits and ork stuff.
This is what i came up with:

Which parts did you exactly use!? Are you planning on building an entire fleet? If so, could you then also put up pics of how you build the stuff? Any ideas on a colour scheme?

Oh, and what do you think of my attempt to build/design ships (check sig)?

That's phenomenal! I love the turrets and macrocannon. What did you use for them?

The turrets are cut down binoculars from the imperial guard cadian sprue, the panels i used for the main hull and indeed most of the ship is the part labelled "14" in this picture:

Guns on the side and prow are simply barrel tips from the necron gauss rifles that necron warriors are so fond of

Added green stuff to fill in the gaps and used a imperial guard comm backpack for the bridge section.

This model took me days to assemble and file down to fit together and its not an easy conversion. I had to trim a lot of the panels from the Pod to make them fit together. Hope this helps.

Not an entire fleet no, but i have a few other ships in the works (not as elaborate as this one).

I generally use grey tones and metallics for my ships with highlights and the odd white window or bridge section. I think it fits the game better to have ships that look like navy vessels and not a carnival

It looks pretty amazing, but could do with some more gothic details to make it look ancient and relic-like.

I will definitely stealing the idea of using binoculars as turrets.

My Fleet defitinely has a greater demand for turrets than is does binocluars for the foot sloggers.
