So it's been a while Dakka. Last time I posted was 2011

Since then I haven't played a game, for various reasons, but I never got rid of my various warhammer projects. Recently I've seen a few Deathgaurd conversions of the Dark Vengeance set, which has inspired me to convert up a CSM army from my existing 98% Space Marines bitz. Coz lets be honest, Plague Marines are the easiest CSM to convert, and it's the cheaper option than buying a new army.

Originally I planned on building a cannibalistic nurgle CSM Warband, called the 'Gorgers' who rocked around capturing unfortunates for a slow fly-inspired external-digestion. The main design elements for this idea was various teeth protruding shoulder pads, rhinos covered with shackles and hanging torsos (meat racks) etc.

I mite still use this concept, but for now I'll just stick with getting the basics tidy. My rough list of conversions will hopefully include:

Daemon Prince
A Converted Typhus
Biker Lord

A Nurgly Dreadnought
Typhus's Terminators

2 - 3 five-man squads of Plague Marines
2 - 3 ten-man squads of Cultists
2 - 3 ten-man squads of Lesser Daemons (Count as Typhus Zombies)

A Heldrake (no idea what to convert out of yet)
Nurgly Bikers

Oblitz

My Progress as of now:

2 Squads of Plague Marines (75% Converted, 5% Painted)

Squad A

Champion

Squad B

Champion

Wish me luck, hoping to post a BR of my first 6th ed game if I can keep it up.

Updated pictures above for higher quality.

Also managed to sneak in some time for some rough corrupted armour sculpting, but still needs to be trimmed and sanded.

I've been wondering about their power packs, using those fantasy bows give a pretty cool effect but i'm not sold. Their just the only thing I have a large amount of and can easily replicate. Thoughts? Anyone have a tutorial on how to convert space marine powerpacks into chaos packs?

Cheers.

Right so quick update.

Started test painting Squad A, about 50% done.

The one in the middle is my finished paint scheme, but he still needs detail work (as I was called away and let the paint dry on my ultra fine brush, grr)

Also started work on my Typhus count as. Not a very good picture.

Pretty happy with his pose, although i'm thinking of switching out his Scythe for a badass flail, to create an original-looking named character. He also needs severe nurglification and random tubes, and possible changing his melee weapon into a dual wielder.

Then I got carried away and started sculpting my nurgle DP. Got his superstructure more or less right and started sculpting his power armour. Although it's important to note I am going to nurglify some of him after the armours done, as to match the majority of my army.

Cheers.
