Nice! Love the severed neck. He does look a little precariously balanced up there, but the things we do to get ahead on the battlefield...

Crikey that neck is absolutely amazing! Your chaplain is fantastic as well, what'd you use to highlight the black?

Thanks! ^_^ As a Black Templar player this will help a lot, especially considering I'm just about to paint up the special Chaplain character for the Executioners ALSO MY 1111st post!

The painting is absolutely top notch, no complaints there!
Is it possible to experiment with a dissolvent on the tyranid head? I'm thinking along the lines of melting the top down slightly, where the figure would eventually be stood, so as to give the chaplain a more 'weighty' appearance, it looks a bit on the precarious side otherwise, though that is being pretty nitpicky!
Otherwise it really is a lovely looking figure, I especially like the gore on the neck, it's very convincing!

After seeing the title of the thread, I was distinctly disappointed not to see an Ultramarines sergeant with a cane, bowler hat, and toothbrush moustache.
On a more serious note, great paintjob! The severed neck look is amazing! The detail there really brings the model home, and allows the brain to fool itself into believing it's looking at something real, just in miniature, rather than a simple toy. Great work! My only piece of advice would be to maybe rework the tyranid tongue. As is, it looks like it's defying gravity and hovering off the ground, when the eye expects it to loll lazily. But other than that, phenomenal work. I hope your customer was very pleased. (And if he wasn't, send it to me! )

Amazing model, great painting & have to agree the neck is great! If I could make one tiny suggestion it's maybe heat the tongue until soft then bend it so it's on the floor, not sticking straight out.
Great job though!

Some ooze/blood coming out the mouth would also give the head more effect. I also agree he needs a weighty effect on the flesh of the nid. This is a center piece that is for sure.

Its not about the type of weapon, its about how you use it.

Lovely painting, but the fact that the chaplain is just hovering lightly over the severed head is really bothering me. He's a superhuman in an enormously heavy and ungainly suit of armor, and setting aside the questions of how did he get up there, and how did he server that head, he should be making at least a little impression on the thing.

Thats one of my favourite space marine hq models games workshop makes and thats a great paint job to go with it. The words are very well done. It's a bit of an art form to make small squiggly lines look like hand writing from a distance.
