I've been working on an Elysian force for a little while. These are the first of the vehicles (many more Valkyries, Vendettas, Vultures to come), and they accompany the Elysian Droop Troops infantry I've previously worked on.

Because I'm doing about 9 of them total, I had to make sure I found a repeatable and also customizable method of working, and make sure all the details and intricacies were up to the owner's standards. I bought some blank inkjet transfer sheet paper and I needed to get a believable and cool (and free) font to use for lettering, names provided. The decals worked well for certain tasks, but with the tools I had I could not produce white lettered decals. Printers don't print white usually ! So I ended up printing out a color that matches the Thunderhawk Blue coat that surrounds the white (blank) lettering. After I applied the decals, I would paint around the letters to blend the decal blue with the Valkyrie's blue. To my misfortune, my printer ran out of cyan ink so I had to match Thunderhawk Blue with greyscale around the letters -- suffice it to say, I really did paint around each letter with blue! It was kind of fun though. The letters were very blocky, so it wasn't a lot of curved delicate lines, just straight and diagonal ones.

Anyway here are some photos, starting with a little digital conjuration:

Fantastic colour scheme, reminds me of ww2 naval aircraft. What are the fuel pods made from?

@ Boba Fett: I placed the model on a lazy susan and then rotated it, taking a picture each time I rotated it slightly. I have my camera on a tripod so that I don't have my hands full. Then I stitch the 50 or so photos into an animated .gif in VirtualDub and Photoshop.

@McGibs: The fuel pods are actually something you can buy off Forgeworld: link

One heck of a great job you did .

The only poorly painted miniature is the one that is not painted.
