Are the metal robed Dark Angels smaller than plastic marines? I want to add some for variety but not if they're small.

I hear that metal models suffer from "shrinkage" compared to plastic models, but I don't know how this affects the DA.

Not noticeably. I will take some pics at home this evening if I can remember.

Well due to some size creep, and the fact that the metal models you're talking about are from 3rd ed (I believe), then yes there may be some size discrepancies.

Yeah I've seen pics of metal terminators versus current gen ones and there's definately a difference. Also seen it with some metal marines.

For the Lion and Terra!

Because nothing in the galaxy is black and white, Mankind views the Space Marines as a last resort. The last line. When all else fails. They take up the burden. The noble defenders of Mankind. The last hope.

With finecast you can bypass the washing stage and throw them straight into the bin.

Or cut out the middleman and just flush some money down the toilet.

i have the old metal Vets, as well as the modern plastic kit, and the metal ones are definitely a bit smaller...
once the arms, shoulder pads, and backpack goes on, the difference is negligible...

As jah-joshua said, the metal ones are a bit on the shrimpy side. You could either just do a whole squad of them so they don't stand out amongst each other or build them up a bit higher with some green stuff on the base to even them out. Then again, no one is going to notice if everyone is all painted up.

Thanks guys. I reckon I'll go with the plastic ones then. Don't like "shrinkage". Lol

Not sure if this would apply to help (especially since the sarge pictured here is plastic, but from the 1st or 2nd edition paint starter kit):

All models are WiP (having ADD doesn't help on full completes!) and taken with a phone cam:

Starting "anew" - 5000pts - oldskool models
Slowly but surely - almost 2500pts?
Small but taking their vitamins - 2500ish?
daemons roar - 3000ish ?

Oh fliers - how thou hath ruined the game
