Does anyone have side by side pictures of any models that could be used to represent a Taurox? I really don't like the Taurox model. I do like the 6x6 Rapid Assault Vehicle from Secret weapon miniatures. http://www.secretweaponminiatures.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=76&products_id=350 But how does it compare with the size of a Taurox. I think if you are going to use a stand in model it should have a similar size (foot print, height, etc) as the intended model.
If not the 6x6 anyone have any other recommendations?

The concept of a Taurox - i.e. an APC/armoured car is pretty common in real world equivalents. Anything around 1/48 or 1/56 scale plastic kit would probably fit with 28mm.

Thanks for the reply. However, I wasn't asking about who makes APCs. Question was who makes a vehicle that is the same size. Again I think a "counts as" vehicle should be roughly the same size. You wouldn't want a person to put down a Chimera as a "counts as" Baneblade. So just curious if anyone has side by side pictures of the Taurox with other vehicles. Or can recommend vehicles that are the same size.

My vote is either for a Ramshacklegames Rhebok or the assault vehicle from secret weapon miniatures.
The treaded Rhebok has side doors.
Don't really have any numbers on dimensions though.
Found a video and its slightly narrower then a rhino (maybe by an inch maybe just half an inch). Maybe as long, if a not its just smidge shorter than. Slightly taller
Basically find something similar to the profile to the rhino, with maybe an inch or a half inch taller height, and you've got the taurox.
And if you're using metric, bugger it all and just say it fits a rhino to a T. With maybe a two fingers width of added height.

Hey, I will be the Good Guy Greg and tell you that as far as transports go, the 6x6 assault vehicle from Secret Weapon is probably your best bet here as most are there to count-as rhinos or chimeras that have very different footprints, but it's good as you said that you like it.
I took my tape measure and checked - the dimensions stated on their website are almost identical as my Taurox assembled with the turret, aside from one thing - the 6x6 is half an inch longer, but that's no advantage for you(more of a disadvantage making it's footprint slllliiiiightly bigger) as you will be wee bit more likely to get hit by a blast, but noone will call you a cheater with that, that's for sure!

Every time I see the Dreamforge one all I can think about is an armored limousine just waiting for a bunch of genestealers to burst out of it.

Awesome information, thanks. I love that Dreamforge vehicle. Though now that it is mentioned it does kind of look like an armored limo. heh
How does the Dreamforge vehicle compare size wise to the Taurox?

Honestly, I think a nice color scheme can work wonders on a model such as the Taurox.

Honestly, I think the Taurox looks great if you just add some wheels to the front. As a half-track, I bet it would look really awesome.

No idea why you guys have problems with the Taurox aesthetic. I think it just needs a good weathered paintjob.

That image was posted 4 posts up. Most people don't like it because those treads look terrible. There are so very many reasons why. I'll give one: Why are there fenders if the tracks are covered? It doesn't make sense. It really looks late into the design phase of this model somebody took a look and decided to change it from wheeled to tracked. It really looks like the tracks were horned in at the last moment.
But taste is subjective. If you like it great. You are allowed to. Just as the rest of us are allowed to think it looks like gak.

I saw the above posted models on sale on ebay for 30 pounds and 8 pounds shipping.
These were showcased in a video on youtube just a couple days ago, so I was surprised to find them for sale on ebay.
I was torn whether to buy them or not, given that the asking price for the pro-painted models is very decent.
However, I realized you wouldnt get the parts for the Taurox Prime with it, and I could buy a Taurox kit myself over at wayland for 22 pounds (and something else to reach the 40 pound mark and get free shipping).
So essentially pay 16 pounds more (or 8 pounds more if you take GW RRP) or a bit less than that if the shipping is cheaper to where you live, but get a model that cannot be made into a Prime.
Still being torn, I shot them an email asking if the top had been glued shut, and they said yes, and then they also said the pricing was a mistake and it is to be sold for 65 pounds.
I'm like "ahahahahaaha thanks for making the decision easy for me now, I'll close those tabs and buy and paint my own"

I think the Taurox could look OK if it had a good wash applied to it.
But for the OP, check out the Hammer APC. $23 and it looks similar in form and I think the dimensions are pretty close too. I've never ordered from these guys before though.

Damn, that's a nice mini, could pass for a decent Chimera too. Fits the Guard aesthetic better too.

That's a much cooler looking model, might have to look into that. At least until someone makes an affordable Mass Effect Mako model.

There are based on the MXT-MV Husky.
I found them both on eBay and this site: http://www.toywonders.com/ProductCart/pc/International-MXT-MV-Husky-Military-Trucks-4-5-Asstd-2167D-100p12914.htm#details
I have found them on eBay for about $8.00+Shiping or by the case for about $65.00 for a case of 12.

That dreamforge armoured limo looks like it's WAY out of the Taurox dimensions. Hell, it even looks like it's 2 times longer and much lower.
I think that the OP would appreciate more size-compatible ideas from you as he asked for similar profile and footprint.
Also lol at the wheel conversion for Taurox. If there's both front and rear suspension set, the armoured truck would look much more than the Humber Pig it was designed after. And much more realistic. What I dislike about halftracking it is that the rear track is far too short for it to look plausible as one. So either stay vanilla with funny castellan pattern tracks or go 4 wheel for more realistic feel.
