My first listing in this forum. This is the start of my scratch built Void Shield Generator

Hopefully the pic is visible, not sure how this all works

I worry the plain wood on top of the detailed base won't make up well. I'd recommend replacing the wood with something from the Imex powerplant or chemical plant kits

http://www.thewarstore.com/IMEXPlatformerHexagon.html

Or have a plainer wooden base for it.

A trick I learned from my local GW store manager is to use masonry paint to base. So will be giving that a try, it seams to stand up better when basecoating wood and cardboard

The curved arches are going to be flamy, so providing details to the flat open spaces. I also have other GW bits to add to the central strut for more detail

I am planning on using this piece in a tournament at Warhammer World, so unfortunately everything does need to be GW made :-(, or made by me

Fantastic idea. If you have the time/money to do so maybe a simple light system for the orbs? Never done it myself just thought the orbs could be an opportunity to create an interesting effect.

Looks pretty cool. What kit is the base building from?

It is a Vengeance Weapon Battery base with at least 4 codexes used for bits (space marine, blood angels, dark angels and Orks)

The wood was designed by me and laser cut by someone i found online
