I'm planning to basecoat some stuff with a can of tamiya color for polycarbonates, intended for use on RC cars and the like. I dont any non-black primer handy, and this stuff IS designed to stick to plastic (but not specifically GW style plastic.)

Anyone ever tried it right onto the model?

That stuff tends to spray a little on the thin side. I would not recommend using it, but if you are going to try, keep your coats thin and transparent, with plenty of drying time in between.

I did end up priming first, but I'm not sure I would have needed it.

Comes out with a slight eggshell texture. Very acceptable. Great coverage.

Two of the guys on the right were black before I primed them, and I couldnt even figure out which ones they were till I remembered they didnt have rubble on the bases.
