Good evening ladies and gents, after a bit of a hiatus I've decided to get back into the swing of modelling, and in particular, I've decided to refocus my attentions on Inq 28, as it's becoming very popular all of a sudden. In particular, Krautscientist, Molotov, and PDH have really inspired me recently, as I feel they're the blogs which I've drawn most of my creativity from, along with a fair few trawls of the internet. It needs to be stressed however that many of these conversions are part of a recycling project of mine to reuse and rebuild miniatures that had fallen to the wayside. That's one of the great things about Inquisitor I find, because of all the crazy, and elaborate characters, you can really go wild and have some interesting conversions. I'm going to take a leaf out of Krauts book on this one and showcase each miniature individually, with a bit of lore and a low down of how I converted and painted them. Obviously PIP pictures await, and they'll be coming soon enough. So, here goes nothing! Inquisitor Isaac Huss The young Inquisitor Isaac has lived most of his life in the shadow of his mentor, a certain Inquisitor ++Classified++ whose radical teachings, and obsessions thankfully did not rub off onto his pupil. It was cruel fate that threw Isaac into the path of Inquisitor ++Classified++ but Isaac has never regretted his decision to join the Ordo Obsuletus, after he himself witnessed first hand account the blazing, and terrible glory of the Legion of the Damned in action. He had been but a child, 10, maybe 11 years old when his home planet, and agri-world by the name of fuego-halcón VII came under sudden, lightning fast, and devastating attack from a force of Eldar corsairs of the Saim-Hann Craftworld. The planets small, cadre of PDF troopers were ill equipped to take on lightning quick attacks from jetbikes, and found themselves massacred along with the planets populations, who were quickly isolated and dismantled, village by village. Isaacs own farmstead was one of the last to hear of the sudden invasion: they were miles from the nearest signs of civilization, and Isaac and his family only realized they were under attack when his father was sliced in half by Shruikan fire from a passing jetbike. Seconds later, Eldar forces were moving in on the building from all sides, escape was deemed impossible, until, all of a sudden, Isaacs world was erupt with fire, pure and bright. As his house blazed around him, the young boys eyes affixed on a mighty giant standing before him. vaguely, over the roar of the inferno, the sounds of heavy weapons fire, and the bark of bolters he could hear the panicked screams of eldar dying. But Isaac was fixed upon the figure, a Space Marine all in black and bone, with ethereal fire licking at his boots, and from his skeletal eye sockets. Isaac blacked out, and came about in the remains of his burnt out farmstead, with no signs of the ethereal marine, or his brothers. He had been saved by a stranger, but it had been only days later when another stranger arrived, Inquisitor ++Classified++ and took the child, who was now parentless, under his wing and began to tutor him in the ways of the Inquisition. Isaac Huss is an Inquisitor of the Ordo Obsuletus, a minor order tasked with gathering knowledge on the mysterious Legion of the Damned, and other, unexplained occurrences. As such, Isaac follows the Monodominant school of thought, brought about by his experience with the Eldar, but differs in belief with his fellows, in that he believes every 'homo sapien' be they mutant or ab-human has a role to play, and as such, he is sympathetic to the scum of humanity, and is not above utilizing them to help uncover the truth. All righty! Here's a shot of his back, for those who've tanked their way through a chunk of impromptu background. This miniature was very much inspired by Molotovs 'Interrogator Raef' a simple conversion of a voystroyan and the scarred imperial guard head. They share the same head, but they differ everywhere else. I have chosen to use a cadian torso, built up with greenstuff, to make Isaac taller. Afterall, he's essentially a farmboy in the big wide galaxy, and I wanted him to be big and strong. His legs are a combination of 3 parts: the skirt, or the bottom of his greatcoat ( ) is from a Breton Peasant archer. (I don't even know where I got it, never bought the box) with the shin guards of a chaos Marauder, to further accentuate his height. Of course, the Marauder legs obviously didn't come with feet to be inconvenient, so I took a pair of shoes from the sentinel Pilot figure, filling in the empty space with more greenstuff. His upper section of his arms are from an empire halberdier (not sure where these came from either) but they were messed up something bad with plastic glue, so I had to rebuild the frills on the left arm with greenstuff. Hopefully it won't show once painted. The lower arms are simply a necron shin (not an arm) attached to a Vindicare assassin pistol hand, and the other is from the forgeworld chaos enforcers. His powermaul is built up from the backpack of the chaos renegade psychers. Only other detail is the horned skull on his back. Again, not so sure where it came from, I think it was the chaos warriors box. Approximately it took about 3 hours on and off to do this guy over several days. What do you think? C and C would be lovely, I thrive on it!

Excellent one of my favourite blogs has been updated afeter far too long a hiatus
Inquisitor Huss looks good, simple and effective. He really reminds me of an ex arbite. Great use of parts I might have to dig out my old vindicare and you are crazy in a good way for using maruader shins...brilliant. The only part I am not sure works properly at the moment is the right elbow where the two parts join, to me it looks like it needs a little GS to fill the join. Two areas the GS I really like: the torso as the new armour plates really change his appearance away from Cadian and the GS belt the helmet/horned skull are hanging from (I like little details).
Nice to see a obscure ordos from the background. I am not sure he needs to be classed as a monodominant though, as he has no problems with the scum of humanity. Monodominants are evil religious fanatics who hate everything and everyone for sin or even perceived sin. I would change him to a puritan with genocidal tenancies towards xenos/or perhaps more specifically Eldar.
Roll on paint!

Hrm? What's going on here?
Before paint....
And undercoated.
I always find it a bit stressful right up until undercoating. You don't know if the parts are going to mesh, if the greenstuff is smooth enough, and not going to look like ugly blobs. I'm relieved to say that's not the case, and there's a fair few miniatures there you're not supposed to be seeing for a while, hence the 'tantalizingly blurry pics'
PDH, this update is for you.

So, as I promised, I have another little update to tide you ladies and gentlemen over with. First things first, here's a couple of PIP pictures of Inquisitor Huss.
and his back
Whilst I finish off the cloth with some final highlights, I'm trying to ponder on what colours I should do his armour plating? I'm not sure I want to leave them just black, it might look unfinished. Any ideas?
And now for something completely different.
Here is my second member of Huss's warband.
Billy Kid
Billy Kid is an example of the diversity of the abhuman populations under imperial rule. This certain sub species of Homo Sapiens Variatus, who commonly suffer from extreme prejudice, have come under sever persecution in several planets where they are used for manual labor. Whereas their larger cousins have been completely rejected from the imperium, with Inquisitors and Magos Biologis researchers reasoning that something so far removed from humanity must be tainted by chaos, this less bestial sub species is tolerated for their uses. Wiry, and squat, these abhumans are nonetheless tenacious, earning begrudging respect from the Guard on several plaents over several campaigns. Inquisitor Huss first met Billy Kid whilst following up rumours of planet ++Classified++ being a former recruitment planet of the lost Firehawk chapter. Whilst his study was inconclusive, the abhuman guide had been invaluable to Huss during his exploration, not only showing him to the relevant data-terminals with the information he needed, but he also came to the rescue of the Inquisitor when the floor of a disused mechanicum factory collapsed under Isaacs feet. He would have fallen to his death, had it not been for the mismatch, giant hands of his guide, grabbing him. Billy had hoisted Isaac back up out of the hole with surprising ease, belying the hidden strength behind the wizened frame of the abhuman, and had offered the inquisitor a swig from his hip flask to calm Huss's nerves. Whilst Isaac knows that Billy Kid is a rogue, a mutant and a cheater at cards to boot, he trusts him with his life, and has had him as an accomplice since.
Well pun nicknames aside ( see who guesses it) I'm pretty happy with the progression of my warbands gunslinger. Originally, I was concerned that much of Huss's retinue would be based off of Imperial guard conversions, seeing as they're some of the most prevalent plastics I have available to me, so for the gunslinger I wanted it to be comprised completely of anything but Cadian parts, to give him a really scruffy, and unequipped feel. So he gained a pair of Zombie legs ( i know some people hate this kit, but I can't get enough of the zombies. It's so versatile, nicely detailed, and I personally love the big hands), which I refrained from giving cloven hooves. According to a background read up, 'Hooves, horns, and bestial faces' are exterminate-able features to have as an abhuman, and i wanted Billy to have a fighting chance in the imperium. That and I didn't want him just to look like a beastman with trousers on. This reflected with the choice of arms, as again, I wanted him to look sufficiently different, as well as I didn't want him to have the muscular ungor arms. Other than that, it's ungor plastics, a cowboy hat from foundry miniatures, and Kroot Pistols. I've just started painting his skin at the moment, but hopefully I'll progress quickly onto finishing him.
Final tidbit, I want to unify my warband with a common colour that they can all share. They're undoubtedly going to look unique from each other, but what colour should unify them?
Thanks guys, C and C me, I thrive on it!

Huss's torso really needs picking out/highlighting but that could just because most of him is still black. I think black armour would work due to his chosen mission....but added flames probably not. Oh and get his shin armour to match his torso.
Wicked idea....Billy Kid and a good gun slinger pose and him name Oh and the hat
You big tease just like Baiyuan with the group shot teaser.
Now is it just me or have you mutated Mr Nurglii Lord so that another torso is growing out of his shoulder? Close ups please.

Hey all, just a quick update today, just to prove I'm not dead, though I do feel it, as I'm a bit hungover from last nights celebrations. First off, good news! I've got into University for this year at Swansea to study Ancient History! This may mean my hobby time, which has only recently been rekindled, will be being cut down something terrible, but I'll keep the updates coming up until my leaving date. I'm going to endeavor to get all my current Inquisitor figures finished before I leave, so prepare to be inundated with pictures! Anyway, I'm sure you didn't come here to listen to me blather on about this and that, so I'll just put up a couple of WIP pictures. Images of Huss might be heading this way later today, as I'm getting to the point where I'm comfortable with how he looks, and Billy goat gruff has his skin finished, and is starting to get the hair on his back painted.
I'm also working on a rather ambitious project which might pop up in the not too distant future!
So, first things first, here's my new WIP
and a back view
He's an imperial guard veteran of some type. I don't really have much to work with as background yet, but he's been loosely inspired by Team fortress's 'Scout' class.
Anyway, C and C is always appreciated, I thrive on the stuff! And expect maybe another update slightly later on?

I'm liking them so far.. rag-tag band of misfits by the look of it. Keep up the good work.
As for unifying colour.. perhaps a bronze with a dull shine? They strike me as the underdogs of the Inquisition and sparkling armour resplendent with all components intact isn't particularly what I'd expect.

Hey folks, I have an update for you today.
I've finally finished off Huss, and am fairly pleased with how he turned out. I'm particularly happy with his skin tone, as it came out as a complete accident, and I'm even happier with the shaved head.
And here's a shot from the back.
And finally a nice close up shot.
What do you think? Also, what's a bit of a pain, is his power maul had a little accident. The resin has snapped, just after the pin inside it stops. So he's now very fragile, and I've had to superglue it twice so far. I'm now looking for a new replacement which is a bit more sturdy. I'd love to hear some ideas!

Great paint job on that guy.
As for the maul.. there's a DA power maul for the opposite hand that could probably be cut off at the hand and pinned into his hand, if you had the time and patience for something like that.

But wait, there's more.
I've also finished off Kid to a reasonable level, or more to the point where I'm not sure what else I want to do to him. I'm not so happy with his skin tone this time round, and feel I could do another layer onto it, but I'm not convinced he'd look any better afterwords. If any of you guys can think of a way to improve him paintwise, feel free to holla!
and a backshot. The fur was very difficult to get any detail on it. Alas.
I'd love some help with this guy, I feel like I've hit a bit of a wall with him and need a hand!

Give him a striking coloured hat, maybe an acid-scar - anything to provide some contrast whilst still retaining the gritty shooter aspect.

That maybe could be the way to go, he's definitely very dark at the moment, and doesn't cacth the eye so well as Huss, who I deliberately painted the skulls and his purity seal brightly, to contrast with his otherwise gritty aspect, to denote him as a good guy, I guess. I could maybe sculpt up a quick purity seal and add it to Kid? It'd help to show he's part of the same 'gang' as Huss, linking them both, as well as showing that despite being a twist, he's one of the good guys.
I'd love to hear your suggestions, so if you have any thoughts, throw them my way. The idea for this gang is gritty, but ultimately good.

Hey there Gravies and Lentilmen, I have a bit of an impromptu not-quite-an-update-but-still-posting-anyway for you today! I have a couple of miniatures that I've finished for you folks to oggle at, just some minor xenos npcs of some description (former necromunda gangers) and also some WIP pictures of the rest of Huss' retinue. I apologize a bit for the picture quality ( I feel I say that in every post) but it's better to show you what I've been up to than let you forget about my forays into sculpting.
So, Here's Goon A and Goon B, former members of my Escher Kroot Gang. Only took them about a year to get painted, which isn't too bad, right?
Goon A, the Kroot sniper is all painted up and ready for battle, he just needs a base.
Here's Goon B, a Kroot Hybrid. I tried to get some movement and fluidity into his pose, he looks like he's charging at the enemy. Scary! Both are painted up to tabletop standard, I guess I just felt defeated by my Kroot gang, and find it difficult to motivate myself to paint them to the best of my abilities. In Inq 28, I'm sure they'll take the part of NPC henchmen, or minor characters. Goon B looks like he'd be a bit of a menace in Inq though!
So I know PDH has been biting at the bit to see my Nurgle Lord conversion, but I regret to say he's going to have to wait just a little bit longer, I promise it'll fly by. So, as substitute, I'll show off the rest.
Here's a fairly ambitious, and painful conversion I did a while back for Huss' Team. He represents a Feudal Planet Storm Trooper, who's totally loyal, and devout to Huss, believing him to be the agent of his God (the Emperor). I wanted to use a completely unique miniature for the Storm Trooper, and I wanted him to be suitably sinister. Better background will be up when PIP pictures follow, but the loose idea is that the Feudal planet he comes from is controlled by the iron grip of the tyrant governor/king, who uses his legion of deaths head cataphracts to keep the order. Hence, the skull mask, and the heavy armor. Sculpting his legs was a learning curve, and though not perfect, I think I managed. In games terms, seeing as my Inquisitor is fairly young, having an interrogator would be unlikely, so the Stormtrooper is his +1 he takes to most situations, and will happily stand in the path of a speeding bullets path if I saves the Huss. Utterly incorruptible was the theme I was going for, hence the huge purity seals.

While he isn't a Nurglii Lord the Storm Trooper will more than make do!
Ghosty that is ace! What is the base model? Very ambitious and clever. You've pulled off the legs btw.
The purity seals could do with a little work though. The parchment is good but the actual seal looks a little flat. I recommend a tiny ball of GS, put it in the right place on the model and then with a lubed small drill bit (like you'd find on a pin vice) poke it into the middle of the GS ball. Tadah you have a purity seal.
As for the brief outline of his story I like it. He is definitely looks intimidating and that counts when working for an Inquisitor.
Now get back to studying if you aint showing off Nurglii Lords

Update two! I'm closing in on the end of my Semester here in beautiful Wales, just 1 more week to go! After finishing of a variety of heinous papers on Ancient Egyptian Civilization, a fascinating subject by the by, I've got enough time for a small update for you all!
To show you all I'm not all about the converting, and that I do enjoy painting too, here's a PIP of a young lady. The way I see it, she'll probably be destined as a minor NPC of some type, but who knows, with my constant rejigging of who's in whose gang, she may very well end up starring in a retinue in the future. Anyway, here she is!
Only a small amount of work going on here; Grey paint for ease of painting (flesh straight onto black is a pain) and her cameo cloak is more or less ready for highlights. The astute amongst you might recognize some similarities with Scarpers 'Raven', a member of his gang. It's a cheeky rip off in honesty, because I loved what he did with adding a gasmask. It hid the horrible mould line plowing through her face ( gj GW!) and added some character. I'm thinking of calling her 'Crow', or 'Blackbird' and homage. I was pondering, and maybe you can give me a bit of feedback on this, but should her cloak have a pattern, or just be plain? I've always wanted to try digital cameo, but I fear it'd be very fiddly.
And, seeing as we're on the process of going through NPCs, here's another!
This guy is finished up, and is awaiting priming. He used to be in Huss's retinue, but since then, I've gone off him; he's way too plain, and the greenstuff work is shabby. I think I need to find him a new pair of legs, and then find him something small to do in my upcoming Inquisitor campaign, possibly be a pilot for something unexciting, and not Huss' Speeder. I am however, quite pleased with his pistol. and might nab it for another miniature.
Not expecting a surge of comments on these two, they're hardly that inspiring, but any ideas would be welcome to improve either! And feel free to make a comment about some of the previous work, I love talking about the things I've done already, and suggestions are welcomed with open arms!

Thanks for the comment! He's still holding his position in the retinue at the moment, but he's soon going to be replaced! Ok, now for a slew of updates! I apologize in advance for the lighting; my poor excuse for a lighting box is packed away, so I'm improvising. I have a couple of PiP images to show you first of all, and then some more exciting WiPs!
Onto the pictures! First of all, I fixed Huss' weapon. It keeps snapping along the neck, and I'm getting frustrated. However, short of replacing the entirety, or reinforcing the entire thing, I'm a bit stuck.
He's still around, surviving the madness of the Galaxy, trying to learn what he can about the legion of the Damned!
And just a quick update on a few miniatures; The Cataphract, the Guardswomen, and TF2 are all on the painting Station now, and are having their basic colours blocked in. For the TF2 scout, I was considering painting him in a famous uniform colours, possibly the Green and Drab Cadian scheme? And then go to town all rusting it up. What do you think? I think the Cataphract will have a similar cloth colour to Huss, to tie him into the warband.
This is a fairly old guy actually, but he's been promoted from the Imperial Guard lying in my Garage, to fully blown NPC! I think he has a distinctly 'Bane' look to him, and I quite like it, it gives me an idea to make Bane possibly..?
"When the Promethean tanks run out, then you have my permission to die.'
And one more Wip to wet your appetite until tomorrow!
Again, I nicked one of Scarpers ideas I must admit. I loved the pose so much. I'm not sure if he'll be in a small Diorama, or as an NPC, but I like his pose, and how he looks. He'll be helping someone up, I guess. Anyway, look forward to tomorrows updates! There will be a Bow the size of an ogre, a xenos horror from the stars (insert 50s scream), a skantily clad lady, and a dwarf! So until tomorrow, Adieu, and C and C as always!

I was going to say- that flamer-wielding character... is Bane...? As a Batman fan, love that guy's mask. And the huge/half-Chelsea smile Huss has on. Makes him look like a complete psychopath.
Keep it up- your figures are freakin' crazy!

Okay, let's get this show on the road!
++ User: Captain Mathias Horton ++
Ship Licence: **ERROR**
Ship Destination: Eastern Fringe [Exact Destination Unspecificed:: Query?]
++Captains Log++ : This is Captain Mathias Horton of the Frigate Stars Child - three days since warp jump, no casualties to report - But that was one rocky journey Hull integrity readings at 70% - Should last us another three trips before we need to get the repair kits out. ++Cargo intact++
Captains log: It's been 3 days since Warp Jump, and 4 since we picked up a distress beacon from the ++ACCESS DENIED ++ Ship was listing hard, and fuel was pumping out of one side. They're still not telling us how they got into that position in the first place, but my guess is Corsairs, or some god awful flying. We thought it was a bare bones ship, and moved up on side to get a good look before we embarked. Scavenging from hulks may be forbidden, but a small wreck? Worth the risk I'd say. Anyways, Everything looked good and we embarked the crew vessel. Doors had been fused shut and it took Riggs a good twenty minutes with the plasma cuter to even get a man sized hole cut through the bulkhead. Place looked to be a Gold Mine, 'till we found the survivors. Ships rites and all that. Now, a scrupulous Trader would've seen the opportunity to take the supplies, and leave the survivors, but I'm smart. I'm smart and I got a good look before we jetisoned the air from the ship. It was an Inquisitor, and his accomplices in the Crew deck - and they knew we were on board. Anyway, things got out of my depth pretty fast, and next thing I knew, we'd towed the transport into our Docking Bay, and were giving them time to repair, whilst giving them a leap frog to the 'fringe. I guess the Inquisitor has a way with words and no mistake. Now, off record, but I've never seen Inquisitors before, but this guy... I was expecting more. Y'know guys in solid Gold armour, with weapons taller than a grown man in each hand. But this guy, he's little more than a senile, Paranoid Scitzo, parading around in a glorified wheel chair. He even has a blanket for his legs for Thrones sake! Still, an Inquisitor is an Inquisitor, and in the end of the day, if he says Jump, I'll ask how high. Last thing I need is an Inquisitor deciding to check my Licences... If I was expecting anything from his crew, I definitely didn't imagine it'd have a Xenos or two. There was a Kroot, I've seen them before. Big and gangly, but with the strength of three men. And then there was a Sslyth. I know them Snakemen are supposed to be the most trustworthy Xenos you'll find out there, and possibly the most polite too, judging from this one's manners, but Thrones, does he gimme the creeps. Scares me too how it can wield that bow; it's huge, and fires arrows the size of spears. Boys gotta be as strong as a Kroot, at the least. The others were no less weird, but they kept themselves to themselves for the most part. Some guy with a mask and a laspistol probably older than my ship, and a great brute of a man, a real giant, with metal gauntlets for hands. never seen the like before. What surprised me was they carted onto the ship a stasis tube. Lots of locks, and frankly I dunno what's in there, nor do i really want to find out. Stenciled on the side 'XV113 - Charon.' The only saving grace in the whole damn team is the Interrogator, the Inquisitors Apprentice. She's easy on the eyes, and makes me wonder if it was her talents as a potential Inquisitor that made the old guy choose her, or was it her 'talents' elsewhere... Anyway, apart from creeping the crew out, they've been quiet and out of the way the whole journey. Well, if they keep themselves to themselves we should get on like a house on fire. Their drop off is in 4 more days, let's just hope something catastrophic doesn't go down between now and then. Mathias Out.
So, that's the introduction to the big surprise I have for you, a second gang! this one's a lot more involved conversion wise than Huss' but with more involvement, comes more cursing, and more chopped fingers. In seriousness though, why does Superglue refuse to glue things together? It seems half the time like I'm trying to glue things with water!
rant over, onto the pictures! Now if you're expecting a gang in completion, you're going to be sadly disappointed, but I hope some of these miniatures will whet your appetite for things to come.
So let's kick things off first of all with My old Inquisitor:
Sorry for the blur on the face, I didn't notice it when taking the pictures. He's not finished right now. If fact, I'd not say he's even halfway there. At present, the work I've done on him so far is just for ease of sculpting. Way I see it, it'll be harder to greenstuff him if he's in a bunch of small pieces. So I'm working away to make a Liche Priest 40k. I gave him a nose and a Bionic eye, as well as filled in the exposed skull. This was my first time I worked with Finecast, and at the moment, I'm a bit thrown. The detail seems crisp in lots of places, and it is a joy to work with, but in itself, the miscast parts were a bit of a let down. The bionic eye is there simply because half his face seemed to have sloughed away, and it was almost completely smooth where his left eye should be. Curious. There's not been much work on his legs at this point in time, they're going to be cut up, and probably not on show either way, so I'm not really concerned with how they look at the moment. I rebuilt his other arm, though that again will probably be broken up into it's parts again to make the finished pose more natural. We'll see. And here's his Wheel Chair! I want the finished look to be something akin to a 40k version of this intimidating badboy:
Possibly with smaller tank tracks.
Anyway, here is itself in its current state. It's pretty much done, minus the control pad, a servo arm equipped with a firearm of some type, and it's tank tracks.
It has a servo skull built in based on the 40k maxim that one can never have too many skulls. I'm sure it'd have some purpose, maybe as a targeting array for the firearm that'll eventually be equipped. Other than that, it's basically a refurbished seat taken from an Imperial Guard Sentinel, with some extra technological gubbins attached. And here's a scale shot with the Inquisitor. My next task, after I've finished the chair, is to take Inquisitor, and get him sitting in the chair. Which looks to be a challenge.
I've seen the pieces to make the servo arm, and the tank tracks, the Space Hulk C.A.T
The only concern here is that they are of course out of production, and now cost an arm and a leg to get a hold of. It's perfect for what I need, but I just can't justify the prices I've seen currently. Onto the second character!
this is a Kroot Tracker I spent a fair time a while back working on, for my Kroot Necromunda gang. He didn't scream 'leader' at me, so he's now serving as an aid to the Inquisitor.
I'm fairly pleased with several parts of this miniature. Firstly, I'm happy with his face. I sculpted onto a normal kroot face, in an attempt to give is some more character. I think i successfully characateured him to a nice degree. I'm also pleased with the feathers on his back, which I made a greenstuff mould for feathers, and used it to print the pattern onto his cloak. I think it could've worked better, but I'm still pretty proud of it. I also love his pose. he looks very nonchalant and calm. Next!
Here's the final update for this afternoon. There may be more later, but I'll let you folks look over these three characters this afternoon, and bombard you a bit more later! This is my Sslyth warrior. Let me tell you, the biggest pain in the arse to do out of all my miniatures, and he's still not done! He's based off of a Dungeons and Dragons Yun Tai (?) which is essentially a snake man. Perfect for a Sslyth! I thought I struck gold when i found this guy, as I've been meaning to add one of these serpent men to my warband for quite some time, but because of funding I had been unable to.
Yum! as you can see, he's surprisingly well detailed, I was certainly taken aback, but here's the drawback. He's made from some kind of rubber plastic, which is almost impossible to cut, and mould lines are pretty much an issue you have to deal with, as they don't come away no matter how much you scrape. I'm glad they're not too prominent. Speaking of the plastics issues, it doesn't sand, and superglue doesn't take to it very well. Would I use one of these figures again if it would be useful? I can't say yet. I'm taking a big gamble with this miniature, as if paint doesn't take to the plastic, he's next to useless. And removing them from their integral bases was a nightmare.
There isn't much information on Sslyth, so I decided to be a bit creative, and decide that there are subspecies that have onto two limbs, and that their 'native' weapon of choice is a Bow. Way I see it, is when there's not much fluff on a minaiture, it lets us run amock! His bow is two zombie scythes with kroot Gun butts on the ends. It's absolutely massive! More akin to a bolt thrower than a long bow. Here's a scale picture (To make PDH foam at the mouth )
I've not yet got a quiver sorted out for this guy, as the arrows will have to be huge. But I'm very happy with how he's coming together, I'm just so happy with his Bow!
So, Anything you have to say will be welcome, and until later, Adieu!
