Loving the guardsman! And That sniper looks awsome! I agree with Rawson thought that I think a scope would work well. Great work like usual!

Rogue Wolves - I could add a scope without much trouble. The reason I am reluctant is that I am running out of credits but I suppose it doesn't have to be a fancy scope with any in game effects. hhmmm I shall see if I can find a nice Imperial scope and tack it on and see how it looks.

Well ingame wise I understand, I was just thinking that it would help "balance" the rifle looks wise if you understand my meaning

Ah, yes. I forgot about in game logistics. I guess you could add some "non-scope" tech instead. It's just that the top looks a bit naked....

RW/Rawson - Decided against adding a scope....because I couldn't find one I like but mainly because I really like the face/mask and don't want anything to hide it.

monkeytroll - Ah another update but since then no progress. But tomorrow other than buying a dining room table I shall try and get a good layer of paint on the hag. Glad that is the feel you get from the latest guardsman because that was what I was aiming for. The other two are shooting and he is arrogantly waiting for the enemy to come to him. Thanks for the heads up on the barrel...love fine cast just bent the whole thing - took three seconds

No worries, and I totally get the focus on the face part!

What about iron sights (or the eldar equivalent)? Even shotguns have those and this is a sniper rifle Maybe that even fits better than the scope for the WYSIYG part.

Nice, I love when people use head trophies as actual heads, it's always surprising and much more intrigueing than seeing IG/SM head XY for the millionth time. Keep em coming.

No, not a lot, that's why I love it... I've done it once or twice myself, it really puzzles folks.

Baiyuan - we had better keep it down then....otherwise it will become common place and I will have to start using GS and sculpt heads from scratch...which I don't think I can do.

Got a bit of progress done on the hag yesterday, just need to paint some glowing orange runes down her right sleeve and then she is done. I wont be doing that today as I am going to brave the wilds and undertake my other hobby of sleeping on mountain tops (and probably wake up in torrential rain)

The Master was about to reprimand the witch for this drivel, he already had a mighty warband, when she blurted her final statement “The daemon you call the Oracle of a Thousand Lies... the beginning of its real name is Rhz’Oass’Zhaaru.” before collapsing unconscious to his richly upholstered floor.

Memorising the impossible syllables the Master knew she spoke of a path not yet open to him and picked her frail form from his carpeted quarters and carried her through the ship to the infirmary. He placed her on a bed and ordered those present “Make sure she lives and tend to her every whim. Get the Mechanicum to set up a vidcoder to record her every movement and whisper.” It was at this point the Master collapsed as spikes of pain rushed through his mind giving him a vision of what the witch had foretold.

I think she looks better smaller....dammed camera being better than your eyes.

I have finally finished the first minitature in the chaos warband. I am massively happy with her hair and lips. I used Tamiya Clear Red for the first time on the anointed chaos star, this stuff smells great and has such good texture. (Cheers Scarper and Björn for the tutorial links). The orange text running down her robe was done nice and quick but credit goes to the artist who drew the Chaos Sorcerer below for inspiration.

I found this on the net and saved it for ideas but couldn't find it again to give the artist credit. I love it and the chains wrapped round its head are so creepy and the chaos star icon on the shoulders/back.

I LOVE that skull, the bullseye is a nice touch!

Rediculous PDH, one of the foremost examples of a chaos coven sorc ive ever seen. I should really pick up some clear red too, seems very useful. Those eyes, and the lips are absolutely fantastic.

That art is cool too.

Rogue Wolves - The Bullseye as you put it is actually Qhaysh. Qhaysh in the Dark Tongue translates to Rainbow or all colours of magic. So I see her staff as a focus for Dhar (Dark Magic) but she has anointed it with blood to attract all the other colours of magic too.

Vit - Thanks bud, I am so happy how she came together. If I had more time I would go back and try to get the orange text thinner/more precise. But I have another 5 models to finish by October (and even then I might have to press gang some scavvies into service). The Clear red is good stuff from this one attempt. I bought it for the Inquisitor Warband but never got round to using it. This time round though I could have a model at rest with blood anointing the weapon appropriately

Totally understand! Daemonettes are too youthful and killy. Well done on the "olderfying" , she doesn't look like a daemonette at all.

Haha, it totally does. I recommended it to my brother in the same way. 'Perfect for blood and gore effects and it smells great!'. It doesn't look very glossy in your photos though, have you toned down the gloss effect somehow or is it just the photo?

She is a nice model, I like the aging on the face although I think the pink lips/eyeshadow is quite youthful. I was worried it would just look like a daemonette but I think you have avoided this, now she looks more like an alien - the typical Grey kind. I also really like the base, subtly done but a good way to avoid the look of just having loads of stuff piled up under foot. Also useful for staying low behind cover.

I have to admit I am not sold on the black and white pattern on the collar, it just always makes me think of Orks. Especially next to the dark red.

Well, most of the praise has been dealt out all ready, however great achievement of breathing (all be it limited ) life into a model.
I was not totally sold on this in the early stages and was convinced it would look to demon like, however my doubts have been put to rest.

I think its great how you mange to give her a witch feel, but retained the essence of youth to her in a weird way, this only adds to the presence of dark magic at work.

The colour scheme is a nice touch bright enough to give the sense of colour, yet muted enough not to drown her.

I like the white and black collar myself and with the red gives it that mage feel, the staff has turned out well and is not over worked (which can be a bug of mine ).

Love the runes down the cloak, however if you can thin them a little might look better, but over all a great miniature.

All most forgot the back pack the paint work on that was a stroke of Genius, that grey section has lifted it and altered it from looking like a standard pack.

It almost looks like some kind breathing apparatus, what it contains one could only imagine

Bruticus - Apparently it is somewhat toxic and you shouldn't lick the brush....I read that afterwards oops! The glossiness is gone because I used it before applying purity seal. But that is ok because the blood isn't meant to be fresh.

As for the make up etc. The eye shadow is meant to be bruising around the eye sockets from psychic exhaustion. The lip stick is an attempt by her to stay younger.

I tried to get the base to match Neil's board as much as possible....hadn't really considered cover saves etc with high bases....damn the poor chap with shotgun.

I gather this is the Tamiya red blood gloss stuff then

Hi PDH, somehow missed the start of this thread, so going to comment now I like the idea and the non-slimy, no tentacle and no other "cheap chaotic stuff" execution!
A bit of C&C though: do you plan to do something with that snipers gun body? 'Coz it looks way too eldarish for human-based guy.

storag - The Eldar is an Eldar not a human. He is just using a bastardisation of Imperial and Eldar tech. When he is painted and his background text written it will hopefully make sense (along with his human like stats).

As for no "cheap chaotic stuff" I have a weird four armed beastman idea brewing in my head
