I'll need to hold off buying a copy till May unfortunately. Rather I'd prefer to have a reason to go up to Crooked Dice's stall at Carronade and annoy them.

Post yer thoughts here or something. * Just leave off spoilers. I need something to read on the train back from the wargames show. ^^

Ooh, so not just "Rifles" or "SMGs" any more? ...Ooh.

Eugh, youknow I'm turning up to games of Fallout with a pile of books now because all the cutting and pasting I'm doing from Crooked Dice's books. The practical side of me's hoping this is a short expansion, though yeah, I'd hope there's lot's of fluff and pics in there to bulk it out too (the arm carrying the books doesn't though).

Still need to read the fluff, I just did a quick skim of the rules to check it out, but interesting stuff and settings.

Oh look a much more professional post, courtesy of me ripping Crooked Dice's own post on the matter from another forum! ^^

7ombieTV supplement Vlad’s Army is now available in both PDF (download now) and to pre-order in book formats. The books are due to arrive early April, we’ll post, or you can collect at Salute.

Rulebook - £10 Print or £6 PDF
Vlad’s Army brings Vampire casts to your games of 7ombieTV! This 58 page PDF contains rules for Vampires and their various minions, Military casts and the doddering Home Guard volunteers left to defend war-ravaged Britain during the vampire invasion of Walsingham-on-Sea. Complete with more statuses, weapons, event, gadget and scavenge cards, episodes tokens and photography by Kev Dallimore – this is really a book to get your teeth into.

Card and Tokens - £10
You can also pre-order the Vlad’s Army Cards and Tokens that support the rules. There are 38 cards in the VA deck including new cast Events, Scavange Deck, Campaign events and Special Weapons to support the VA campaign. There is also a set of 27 double-sided tokens (Bitten, Scavenge, Civilian, Flyer, Dominated and Scared) to cover new mechanics and statuses when playing with or against vampires.

Vlad's Army Terrain - £4 PDF
Finally there’s an additional 49 page PDF of cut out and assemble buildings and scenic items by Carl Stoelzel that follow the six episodes in the rules - Afrika Korpse, Palace of Red Petals, The Count of New York and the Vlad's Army campaign episodes: Bloodbath at Charters' Cottage, The 08:15 to Eastbourne and the shocking conclusion - The Siege of St Anselm's. Download it now!

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Personally I don't like using .pdfs unless I have to. I still haven't read any of the fluff from the expansions I have just because I hate having to read from monitor screens (I knuckle down for you Dakka). So I'll wait till May for this one so I have a lovely dead tree version instead (the fact that I like to eat my books has nothing to do with wanting physical copies of them. ...What? Hey consuming them is how one attains their knowledge!!!).

Seeing as the dead tree format is still some time out and my budget is rather limited, I'm putting my own purchase off until later this year.

Here's the semi-auto rule by the way:

Semi-Auto
If you have not spent an action Aiming, you may roll 2 D6 when rolling to attack, counting all rolls which equal or exceed the required hit number as successes. Extra hits may either be allocated to the original model or models within 2”. Military casts only.

Here's the three Vortex Adventurers painted by Simon Bradley. Masters all approved and expecting delivery next week - so will be in the webstore from 01 April.

Hmn, I may pick up the two on the right. With a hand swap they'd make decent post-apocalyptic models (that or the guy in the middle would work as a decent Mal from Firefly).

A hovercraft made by Ainsty castings is also avaiable now for £12.

Sprues of Time Life Security pistols are also available, £1.60 each or four for £7.

The model riding it is a 28mm ARC Astronaut, so in scale with most everything else that Crooked Dice has sold. By my judge its six 28mm round bases long by about four 28mm round bases wide or there abouts.

A WIP of the upcoming Transit Van for use with The Beat casts. Police light, siren and wing mirrors coming later. The wheels will be cast in metal too. Available mid May.

A pair of SHIVA models are in the works right now. Crooked Dice's release schedule's been pushed back a tad due to all the shows occurring at the moment (there's been one every two or so weeks here), so Kohner, two Daughters of Shiva, the Transit Van and a United Radionics Starter Set will hopefully be released around the mid of May (rather than the usual 1st).

A Daughter of SHIVA

And Kohner, a new Co-star (...I think, I should read the SHIVA expansion closer).

Out some time in June comes a set of Department X Commandos (2x MP5s, 2x SLRs) and the stars Hugo Solomon and Pandora King. The stars are a departure from their previous designs, but I suppose I put that down to the new sculptor. The quality on all of the models has definately increased (those are some nice commandos).

My favourite Doctor!

I've been putting off getting more 7TV stuff for a while (bought some ~Spectrum and ~B7 a few years back), I probably should get this.

“Good people are quick to help others in need, without hesitation or requiring proof the need is genuine. The wicked will believe they are fighting for good, but when others are in need they’ll be reluctant to help, withholding compassion until they see proof of that need. And yet Evil is quick to condemn, vilify and attack. For Evil, proof isn’t needed to bring harm, only hatred and a belief in the cause.”

Kohner has been mentioned in the background a fair few times, as well as a reference in that novella, but he didn't get proper stats until the S.H.I.V.A. thing.

Bah! I dislike reading soft copies of rulebooks, so I've not taken in those .pdf copies I have access to as much as the books. =P

Oh, and for the Scottish gamers. Crooked Dice will have a stand at the Falkirk District Wargaming Club's annual event, Carronade. I'll be there to poke the guys with a stick and ask too many questions about when the D&D expansion's coming out.

Something which I forgot to mention last week. Graeme at Crooked Dice mentioned that they're looking to create print copies of their Doctor Who Miniatures Game stuff. Whether that includes the .pdfs, or just re-releasing the original rulebooks I don't know. I was able to pick up an out of print copy of the second edition rulebook if that's any indication.

Also in the case of the Vlad's Army event cards having the wrong backs, that should be fixed with the next batch. Though for the moment they still have stock to shift of the old ones.

Right, onto the news.

United Radionics have a new Starter set available on the Crooked Dice webstore. That's twelve models totally 255 ratings for £25.

There's also another new Daughter of SHIVA that's been shown. I see the sculptor's going for something similar to the Kali sculpt. They've gone off for casting, so should be out soon.

I think I just peed myself a little after seeing this stuff.

Top drawer job, as usual!!!

At Games Workshop, we believe that how you behave does matter. We believe this so strongly that we have written it down in the Games Workshop Book. There is a section in the book where we talk about the values we expect all staff to demonstrate in their working lives. These values are Lawyers, Guns and Money.

Here's some more progress on the transit van. Including the police accessory kit that is shown on the right, others are planned (I asked and a mesh cage used on armour police vehicles is on the horizon).

Ah and BrookM, Kohner's based on this gent from Doctor Who.

The Transit Van is now available in the Crooked Dice webstore for £15 and comes with optional light and siren. I painted version of the model's pending, so right now all there is there are the 3D renders.

I just posted this in the 'what are you playing lately' thread in Dakka Discussions. Figured I'd repost it here .

I would love to start playing 7TV, but the killer there is needing all new terrain! I am building so much Wild West terrain that I have no room to start a new theme from scratch. Now, if there were a Wild West 7TV expansion...

HEY CROOKED DICE if you guys make a wild west version of 7TV I will run a Brisco Couty Jr. themed campaign. Cross my heart!

Well unfortunately Crooked Dice only work on expansions where people are willing to do the legwork for them most of the time. If someone's willing to write up the rules and fluff for a book then, if they like it, they'll shine it up and sell it. At the moment though they're working on something like four books (the fantasy one, the D&D one, a Pirate themed one, and an 80s core book that'll have its own expansions). Cowboy moves would fit in more with 60's Tv or the like, or at least not the 70's British Tv that the current core book's aiming at (the 80's book will probably focus more on American media though). So whilst a Wild West expansion would be cool, Crooked Dice actually having the time and inclination to make one could be a ways off (given that both guys work part time too) unfortunately. I would say that it wouldn't be difficult to play games in a western setting though. There's rules for revolvers and horses already, the problem is that if you want actual substance like specific western equipment and event cards, that's up to you. With my own Fallout setting luckily the 7ombieTv books have some post-apocalyptic rules in them, but yeah, I have to do a lot of work on my own part to tie in the existing rules with the setting. Buy hey, go onto a forum (like Lead Adventure, Graeme's username is Ulti Long Smile there, or sign up to their official forum) that one of the guys has an account on and post in their threads or make a topic about the subject, they might be interested, I would be (though I just eat up any rules Crooked Dice comes out with as Fallout fodder).

Woops, I've been forgetting to update this thread.

Due out in July:

Department X Advanced Weapon Team. Sculpted by Ernst Veingart. More weapon options are planned.

Coming to a high street near you, three Plastons by Andrew May.

A barely disguised Metalnaut sculpted by Andrew May.

And a link the June Newsletter.

So far this pair's what's been announced for release in August.

General Gordon and Sgt 'Big Tam' Frazer sculpted by Ernst Veingart.

Huh, oh I didn't think one was necessary as there's a link to the company's site in pretty much every other post. I typically stick a link to a model's particular store page if there is one, but as that post only included previews there wasn't any. Meh, fair enough. =P
