Yup, ordered some friday and am very happy with the price. Just interested to see if any "bonus" metal characters come in the boxes.

North Star have posted them out already too.

"I'm not happy with the state of the Indiegogo either Ronin, but you're completely full of gak when you say they've screwed people over."

They (Felix) screwed me over about 10+ years ago when they had their Dragonrune company with orcs and ogres. I had bought a lot of them and then put an order in for over $200 and then they closed the company and never sent me my product. I emailed them with no response, and again years later when they started avatars of war. So that showed me his character at that time, even if he didn't have the money then to pay me back for what he stole, he could have years later when they were Avatar's of war and doing good.

Got my minis today, rather pleased that rather than 17 Corrupters with Great Weapons the box is actually has 24, and a different bonus metal character model. So 48 plastic resin (mould lines differ from non existant to a PITA) corruptors and 2 metal characters that retail for around £9.99 each for a total of £36, consider me very happy.

That said I would not want to deal with AOW directly given all of the GAK that happens with delays and communication.

I do not know enough about the company to answer, the box on both says 2014 and they are in resin plastic rather than HIPS (there was an initial Hard plastic release IIRC ?).

It is not completed, nowhere near it, in fact. I was in their IGG for several hundred USD, but managed to get refunded once I realized that the campaign will never get finished. It's sad. I love the miniatures, but the company is run extremely poor. If you want some AoW figures, make sure you buy it from another retailer, and not directly from them.

I figured it hadn't moved much but thought I'd ask as I didn't remember if I had unsubscribed from the thread here or if it simply hadn't had a post/update/news for many months. Thanks for the unfortunate clarification.

Well, with the email notice for their (Chaos) Marauders being released, I had a look at their page to see what you get - used to be a unit of 30 for 35euro... now it seems to be 15 for 35 euro, and they're limiting the freebie preorder model to one per order instead of one per box. So I'll skip it and maybe look again when it hits retailers.

But I did see some movement in their forums due to their frontpage links, and some stuff that's relevant for anyone that backed their Indiegogo....

Well, as I said, campaign backers have already a very nice Dwarf range (the nicest out there) to chose from (in which we have long far invested more money than what we raised), with great offers, access to all our exclusive products, free shipping so they can claim at any moment part of their perk, then another part, ...

All in all, the way I feel is that AoW Dwarf campaign is already a great deal for any Dwarf collector that contributed to the campaign, so I frankly do not feel obliged to sculpt more Dwarfs for the campaign. That said, I am not saying the campaign is ended, as I will of course sculpt more Dwarf figures, and campaign backers that still prefer waiting, will still have access to exisitng + new Dwarf products with all the advantages.

I'm sorry you are obliged we backed this project for specific models which were funded Ian sorry you have spent more than you budgeted but we were promised models years ago and now you say you don't feel obliged to make the models many of us really want for me this was the bear riders it was the main reason I backed this campaign i am very angry at your lack of respect for your customer I have waited three years for bear riders and now it looks like I will have to wait even longer. I know you will eventually sculpt them but this is terrible customer service

rugby149999, really sorry to hear you feel this way. I really have made a very big investment both in time to sculpt some very nice Dwarfs for every backer to feel worth the contribution, and in money compared to the raised amount.
But anyway, I am not saying I will not do those Dwarf regiments, I will indeed sculpt those Dwarf regiments, however what I try to say is that the lasting campaign regiments will be sculpted in a "normal schedule", without priority over other armies regiments.

English is not my first language, so maybe "obliged" was not the appropriate word. Sorry about that.

As I said, the available Dwarf offer will only get better

BTW, forgot to say that the Iron Guard regiment has not been shown, but is already sculpted as part of the campaign, and will be available once tooling is done.

and later in the thread....

Cannot give an exact time table (for example month by month), but as part of our planning to strongly support Warthrone with regular plastic regiments releases, 2016 will see the release of some plastic dwarf regiments, the first ones most probably during the first half.

So there you have it. The campaign is done.
People with models outstanding can get something, but in terms of working on the campaign or prioritising Dwarfs in any way, Felix has called it.
Probably no surprise to anyone, but here it is from the Horse's mouth. I'd suggest that anyone still owed anything - especially Bear Riders that may or may not come at some undefined point in the future - might want to get onto that sooner rather than later. I wouldn't put much stock into what's said about 2016 releases, particularly the implication of plural/multiple releases, given AoW's historical rate of model releases.

Yeah, definitely haven't been pleased by my interactions with Avatars of War. Ordered a couple character models direct form them, both of which were listed as "in stock" on their web store, and it took a *month* for them to process the order and ship. Only did so after repeated prompts from me.

The stated reason? "The person who regularly processes these orders is on vacation for a month, and I am not strong enough to carry the box to the post office."

Wow... almost exactly a year since my last bump for info. Are they finally done with their KS obligations?

No, you misread it. They are in no way near done with their IGG (KS) obligations. Felix (the owner) is saying that they are practically abandonning the IGG and that they will sculpt dwarves a little now and then when they feel like it.

Christ I'm glad I only went in on this for the standard which took 2 years and some to arrive and only after a local person took my issue directly to their office....

If the doomcrushers ever get out to MM I'll grab a box or two. It would actually be cheaper to purchase from them directly with the current exchange rate but I'm not ordering anything direct from them. I trust MM when they say they have it in stock.

Hulksmash - your other option would be UK discounters who offer free shipping. That's where I've got a lot of my own AoW stuff from. Firestorm Games and The Troll Trader are my recommendations for fantasy stuff. The discount is only 10% which I know isn't what people from the US are often used to, but they have good service and it's still cheaper than going through AoW.

edit - FireSTORM games, not FireFORGE games.

Thanks. Somehow when I was viewing the thread on my mobile device, I skipped by the bulk of Azazal's post explaining the answer to my question. That's too bad unfortunately for backers but given the (in)action and (bad)attitude of the creator for all these years it's no surprise.

Good call. I managed to grab the 30 man doom crusher boxes for the price of the 20 mans. It was like getting a third box for $10. So thanks for that heads up.

I saw Felix's posts back in November and actually had a write up planned for Dakka, but after a certain point I was just so over AoW's bull gak that i never bothered posting it. Have to say I'm embarrassed that i defended them for so long, they still make great products but the amount of incompetency and the complete lack of respect that they show their customers has slowly drained what little faith i have left in AoW.

The 5th Anniversary sale that they had back in October 2014 has turned into a huge clusterfeth too, for a single month they decided to make the older OOP Warcast regiments available again but didn't anticipate that they might receive a huge amount of sales for items that were originally only available for a small amount of time. Unsurprisingly this is exactly what happened, after 6 months of silence i contacted them back in July and was told that they were struggling to cast the quantity that were sold and that they had absolutely no idea when they would be able to start shipping my Warcast items.

As of today i'm still waiting for my 5 boxes of Warriors of Apoc to be cast/shipped, although in July i was offered a fairly generous alternative to instead take a store voucher that was worth my initial purchase plus a further 50% instead of the models. Looking back i probably should've jumped at the offer but at the time i desperately wanted a few more Warriors of Apoc regiments.

I think a good rule of thumb concerning AoW is to never buy anything directly from them but wait until the product is in a store . Preferably a physical one and if it's a digital one, be sure it's one where you can trust that when they say it's in stock it actually is, and they're not counting on ordering stuff when they get orders.

As long as that's taken care of, the models seems to be consistently nice and reasonably priced.

To be fair, I pre-ordered and received a 2-3 different sets of their models in the last year. There were delays with both/all, and I wasn't happy with the 6-month extra delay on the Doomcrushers, but the deal was decent at least due to extra figures and/or metal characters included (depending on the particular deals). Since they've cut right back on the value with the Marauders, there's no longer any advantage at all to ordering direct, though.

It has been proven over the latest couple of years that AoW is not a reliable source to buy directly from. They have had problems fulfilling orders at a numerous occassions. Buy their products, but do so through other retailers that actually stock their items, because the quality of the miniatures are indeed holding a high standard. It is a real pity how this company is handling their business and customer relations, because they have good products.

I got my IGG dwarf standard bearer a couple of months back. I messaged them on IGG and they sent it out right away, so anyone who is still waiting I'd suggest doing the same.

This is the reason I really appreciate the feedback from others on the site who have bought directly from AoW; I've bought a few things from them but only through a local store after what I read on here over the past few years.
