Taking a wee break from the DV stuff for the mo. Have a tonne of the new Harlie stuff that are giving me the 'paint me you fether' stares from the cabinet. Anyways - few days left for voting in Paradigm's March painting comp. Get yer arses over there and have a look at the entries and vote for your fav! Easy as committing heresy Heeeeerrree's the link -

The finished Dio looks great. A lovely way to display your DeathWing.

Cheers Az Well happy how it turned out in the end. Need to put in some tufts of grass still, which I forgot. No one has got the easter eggs though lol. These wee dios are becoming a bit of a habit. Did a little one for the finihsed Solitaire and in the middle of making a sweet one for the Skyweaver I'm working on at the mo. Lotta fun to make

Depends what the Eatser Eggs are really - I mean, I saw the bloodied hand that's also on your Cultists, but I'm not sure if that counts. Some of the Termies' base brickwork is on a different alignment to the bricks on the dio base, while the rubble seems to be aligned, but that's not likely an Easter Egg.. There's the bloodied twiple slash in the wall, which naturally reminds of Wolverine, but I'm not sure if that would be it (if it is I haven't read or seen that particular X-Movie/Comic) though I did wonder why the wall was bleeding. Chaos Marine Helm in DV CSM colours on the base.. is that an "Egg" or just base deco?

So it's hard to tell what you mean by "Eggs", if you see what I mean?

Hahahaha - nice one Az. The 'eggs' all relate to the fluff surrounding the DV boxed set and novel. You got 3 of them. The bloodied handprint ties to the cultist squad (well noticed btw). The 3 bloody claw marks were made by Mortis Metallikus - they're above and behind Brother Mendrion; who MM kills in the novel. I hadn't really thought about the helm on the ground. There's still one more....though I think Para(?) mentioned it earlier.

After all that nice clean bright Eldary stuff - need something a little darker and dirtier to paint. Time for a little Chaos (cue manic laughter interspersed with smokers cough )
Vrosh Tattersoul (really? Guess you got the brown ticket in the lame name contest ) Crimson Slaughter aspiring champion should fit the bill. The DV chaos sculpts really are tremendous. Gorgeous detail. I'll use ol' Vrosh as a test model to get the scheme down pat before doing the Chosen. red part of the armour's just about done though I think I need to tone it down a touch.....anyways see what y'think

Another crappy iPad shot

I know you're a pretty experienced painter and all Januine, but there's this rather nice tutorial for the Crimson Slaughter guys that's worth a look if you're interested.

aye - had a wee goosey at that. Some of that fella's tuts are pretty tidy. The one thing I wanted them to go into though was blending of flesh into metals and armour and they didn't. Oh smeg lol

I think it's either the Bloodthirster of Khorne tutorial or the Skullreaper tutorial that has the blending of flesh to metal bit on.

Should be good fun, the DV minis are indeed great! I keep meaning to track down a Vrosh on EBay just so I have the compete set.

Looking forward to seeing what you do with him!

He's not difficult to find Para, he's just the CSM Aspiring Champion clampack they did a while back.

Did you get the Interrogator Chaplain Seraphicus?

It's more lack of effort than of availability that stops me like I say, I keep meaning too, then forget. Off to look now!

Didn't get Seraphicus sadly, I was a bit slow off the mark there and the ones that pop up now are way more than I'm willing to pay.

Wee fella is coming along. Had a bash at blending fleshy daemon faces into armour. Came out ok. Don't have the CS transfers for their warband symbol for his pauldron but am fine with that as I don't think the white white skull blends in well with the rest of the scheme. So drew out the symbol and will freehand on a reduced version of it in black, rusty brown and blood red

Bit of a miserable WiP of the Ravenwing am working on. Just not feeling these guys at the mo. Basing all that metal was a pain. Once the bikes are based in their mech/abaddon mix and all is washed should pep up a bit. Those bloody white feather are doing my head in though!!!!! Fiancée is moving in today so might be a bit before get much more done. Ol' Tattersoul is coming along great though lol

Nice progress on the Ravenwing and CSM. You've certainly got a good reason if you need a break for a little while, though. Congrats!

hahaha - yeah.Family arriving from various corners of the world and then....... Wedding in 13 days!!!
I'll still manage to sneak a little painting time in no doubt! Finished Tattersoul's pauldron with my own version of the Crimson Slaughter's emblem. Forgotten how wee those pauldron's are lol

Gonna be fair busy for the next 10 days or so with the whole wedding thing happening and fam arriving from different corners of the world so thought I'd throw up a couple of wip shots of where I'm at before the madness descends lol

Vrosh is coming along nicely. iPad has overexposed a touch. Really enjoyed painting this wee nutter!! And I still have all the Chosen to do ㅋㅋㅋㅋ

Ravenwing are getting there. The black of the bikes is mostly done and all those annoying metals are based and washed. Should be easier sailing from here. Doing a different black for the riders to try and not have them fade into their bikes

Welp, congratulations if we don't see you again before the big day. I'm going to assume that with family from all over there with you, you won't be on here all that much for the next little while, so all the best in the meantime~!
