Test paint scheme i wanted a color that would look cool as if it was a dark planet

I think he looks awesome. Almost bioluminescent. An entire army done up like this would look amazing.

Nice, reminds me of some deep see terrors. Guess it fits as they could be seen as deep space terrors.

Looks like some nids you would find in a planet shrouded in darkness.

I'm normally not a big fan of Nid's at all, but after seeing your test scheme, i'm impressed, great job man. Love the bioluminescent look like the poster above me said.

Here it is

It's hard to see the detail of each model and the eye is drawn exactly where you want it to go. In a swarm style army, it would be hard to tell what has what and where each creature ends and the next begins. Very disorientating for people not used to Nids. That's something very hard to find these days and a brilliant color scheme.

I love the paint scheme. Gives a very airy/watery feel to them. I think the base color is what helps with that illusion so don't change it.

If you don't call these guys part of Hive Fleet Kaiju, well, I'll be sad, in my facial area, and in my heart.

Beautifully executed, while still being simple and uniquely cool with the bio-luminescent effect which you nicely tied in to the basing. Kudos for making what is, in my opinion, one of the coolest looking 'nid schemes I've seen in a long time.

Thanks for sharing, and I'm looking forward to seeing more like this soon.

heres the custom made swarm lord the torso is made out of putty and extra pieces from the hive tyrant kit and carnifex kit it came out pretty sweet if i say so myself sorry about the 3rd picture is kinda blurry

Absolutely amazing colour scheme...
If i have to find out a point that does not convince me, I would not use the same light blue on the base to make some contrast, but it is my personal taste, the paintjob is truly cool.

Were you planning on doing any themed terrain for the army?

You should do a small piece of rock modeled as coral for an inside 'deep sea' joke on the bases

I'm not a nids player but I've seen some great schemes, what colors did you use for this. The edge work really sticks out!
