Hi guys, this is my 2nd figure. It's The Grim Reaper' from Grey Matter Figures, I'm pretty pleased with how its turned out but I don't think it's quite right.
I've put about four different blacks and greys on it neat and mixed for shading and highlights etc. I've put Nuln oil and a brown wash on and dry brushed the high points a lighter grey. The textured paint on the base isn't dry yet and its gonna get a wash to tone it down a bit.
Any suggestions or constructive criticism gratefully received.
Cheers, Martin

Maybe a touch of rust on the scythe and maybe an extra-bright metallic along the cutting edge?

Please excuse any spelling errors. I use a tablet frequently and software keyboards are a pain!

If this was my second painted figure I would leave it as it is;it is really good! What I will say is the painting of the base will decide if anything needs to be done, choose your base colour correctly!

It looks great! What I would do is add a bit more shade to it and add a lighter color along the cutting edge, then maybe add some red smears to the blade? That's just me though.

I think finishing the base will improve Immensely.

Highlight the metal maybe, add a shade to make it look a bit rusty maybe?
Some highlights to the cloth maybe? Think a light purple would fit well!

Thanks for the encouragement guys, I think I'll hold back from doing any more work on the cloak in case I mess it up! I've just got some cool skulls that I'll put on the base and l'll try and put a highlighted edge and rust on the sythe.
Will post pics when finished, cheers :-)

A touch of highlight on the top edges of the cloak might be nice, in a dark grey.

Sgt. Vanden - OOC Hey, that was your doing. I didn't choose to fly in the "Dongerprise'.

I have no clue how Dakka's moderation work. I expect it involves throwing a lot of d100 and looking at many random tables.

FudgeDumper - It could be that you are just so uncomfortable with the idea of your chapters primarch having his way with a docile tyranid spore cyst, that you must deny they have any feelings at all.
