I just thought I would start a thread where I could drop exclusives about the new Malifaux book out at Gen Con this year. To kick it off, here is the new art for the Hooded Rider

Is that "Hooded Rider" available as a model yet?

What exactly is Crossroads? Love the figure though. I have been considering getting into Malifaux in the up and coming months. Once Crossroads (whatever it is) comes out, would that be a good idea?

So, Malifaux updated to its second edition last year.

At the time, we updated about half of the models in the range to the new rules. Since then we ran an open beta to finish up the other half of the line and released them as free PDFs.

The new crossroads book contains the final, official rules for that second batch of models, plus a few totally new ones. It also has fluff for every crew and a bunch of new scenarios. Waiting for Crossroads isn't bad for starting if you want to use one of those crews, but now is a fine time to start as well.

Personally I'm really looking forward to Colette, Kaeris and Ironsides - both the new crews, as well as the finalised rules. Hope all of the above make it into Crossroads

Will new crews in plastic be coming with/soon after this book? I'm particularly waiting for the Lucius box.

I believe some of the crews from this book will be available shortly after release, but I can't say which ones.

Dreamer, Colette, Lucius I am excited by all of them. Whatever taxes HMRC can throw at me for ordering Gencon exclusives from Wyrd directly will be paid with joy.

Uhh can't wait for a Kirai and a Lucius update, I really look up to this book.

No, I don't expect people to be. I thought that posting in the news and rumors section made it clear this was a bit exclusive. But you know what they say about assuming, I should have been more clear. Anyway, glad you like it.

I'm looking forward to finding out what the nightmare and Miss for this year are.

That was always one of my favorite concepts! But then I found out "nightmare lord chompy bits" was oop / super rare and expensive, and that kind of stopped me diving in (I know there's a standard version, but the looks don't compare for me).

Thanks for posting the exclusive! There's a group at my local store playing this, and they love it. I didn't realize all models weren't updated to second edition yet, so it's great that they're about to be.

I kick myself for not ordering one the year it was first available. I was... upset that he sold out faster than I could get one the second time he was up on their store.

Sweet thanks for all the info. I think I will wait till crossroad is fully released as I need to give my wallet a rest as it stand, or at least prep it lol. Do love everything I hear though!

So, is the Hooded Rider going to be available at Gencon?

Is he going to be an exclusive convention only limited edition model?

I'd love to get one, somehow, someway...

My understanding is that he'll be in the book released at Gen Con, and that is his art work from it. But then again, I'm not well known for being right.

So it isn't 100% obvious or clear then?

He's just a regular model, the rules for which are in the next book.

Won't be exclusive at all (to my knowledge).

Model likely won't be at the con.

I don't think Nathan will be there, but I will be.

I just want my new Leveticus box. I'm a hardcore Leve player, and the new plastics just look sooooo cool/flavorful.

I'd also like my Through the Breach but... um... I digress. :-p

There's a metal version out now, but they've been redoing all of their minis in plastic with new sculpts and art. They're closing in on finishing Wave 1 now, and the Hooded Rider is a wave 2 model, so no telling when he'll be released. Here's the existing sculpt.

That is impressive, but I like the concept art shown above a lot more, and plastic is also an important factor...

I'd like to thank Wyrd for all that they've done with this wondeful game (and how they are being incredibly generous with the Through the Breach compensation, even though I didn't get in on the kickstarter.

When GenCon rolls around, I will be nabbing Crossroads and either the Nightmare Edition set or just Mcmourning's starter , plus whatever I need to fill in the gap to get the Miss.
I'm incredibly excited to see what else will be out in August, just in time for my birthday, too!

What is the Gencon limited/exclusive model for this year?

@ Alparius: Nobody (bar those at Wyrd) knows yet. We should know very soon though.
