These look really good, I particularly like the harpy. I think you should file the rune on it's head smooth. I'd like to see more pics of the others.

My only critique would be that the cultists look even more vicious and deadly than the daemonettes.

Thanks Bruticus.
You do have a very valid point with the daemonettes. They were the first unit I built and now that you mentioned it, I do agree : they look too "nice". Any suggestions on how to make them more evil ?

I kind of like the rune on the head. I´m planning to paint the harpy with skin tones and sculpt some muscle fiber. I like the idea of a body "distorted" after so many travel in the warp.
I´m debating on adding a tail too.

My idea is between the Dark Mechanicus and Slaneesh. Slaneesh followers mutilating themselves to attract the favors of their patron, collecting the bones of their victims, inserting them under their skin as trophy, using combat drugs for more savagery with the consequence of turning them skinny and hairy.
I´m currently testing a bigger, drugged, deformed version of the cultist.
The leader is in the direct line of Fabius Bile and the dark Eldars a tormentor, twister of flesh, a conceiver of combat clones. Originally I was thinking of a female character. Don´t know how I managed to forget that idea. I´ll work more on female models in the near future

Nice work!

A tip for the daemonettes: depending how comfortable you are, try using some green stuff and/or sprue and add some spikes on their bodies? Dunno if that suits you, but is what I would try. Worst case scenario it doesnt look right and they can be scraped off.

Good idea GamesEtc
The problem that I have with these models is that they don't look enough demon like.
I think I was trying to hard to feminize them.
Pikes or horns or extra eyes or arms maybe, tails

When somebody you respect says something, you listen. When it´s Bruticus you feel compelled to react.
Master Bruticus put the finger on something that was actually bothering me with my daemonettes. Something was off.
They indeed didn´t look as vicious as the cultists. I like the hairless heads because they remind me of moon dragon Marvel character but they don´t look demonic enough.
So I tried for the first time some GS works.
I tried several ways of preparing some horns.
Obviously the trick is to be able to replicate the same form. I´m still a beginner so I need to find a technic to do so.
The tail and the horns are just a prototype. They need to be more complicated to be interesting. I just wanted to see what it would look like.
What do you think ? Any tips? C&C?
Thank you for stopping by

More horns
I don´t know if it really works
The one with GS still my favorite but the GS is so fragile...

Even the harpy is hornier. She needs a tail too.

Any suggestions and advices?

Maybe try getting a pin vice and a few paperclips. Drill a hole in the head where you want the horns. Bend the paperclips into shape and insert them. Then use it as an armature to put your GS around. I think it would help make them both more stable and regular.

I love to mix different parts and create something (hopefully) original

Merci Master of Asgard
I tried the paper clip idea.
They have such tiny heads that it feels like destroying their heads. The issue is also that the end of the paper clip is still pretty big for a such a small mini. I'll give it another try with the tails. I guess my mystake is a wrong planning. I thought I could use the armature and roll the GS around and smooth it on my work table rather than scupting it directly on the mini. Maybe without realizing it I was trying to cut corners.
Merci de m'avoir remis dans le droit chemin.
Thank you for stopping by it actually gives me the support requested to give it another try.
I really like the first GS horns with a Hell boy (girl) style.

I was thinking of adding a 3rd arm or tentacle to make them less... human.
What do ya'll think about that?

One of them will have also to become a standard bearer. Did not think about that but since I'm planning to sell them I have to give my clients all the options. (I'm no player )

If not a paper clip you can sometimes buy very thin wire, very very cheap. Check out DIY stores and stuff like that. Then you also need a very thin drill bit but it could work!

I think the daemonettes look great, the horns made from (I think) dryad branches look good, nice and twisted. I actually don't think you need to make them look any more daemonic, they look good as it is.

I think the thing that is somewhat problematic is that the cultists have the same sort of armament, with blades in each hand, and some of them look more vicious than the daemons with bigger blades and more aggressive poses. I think you could add a few more weedy looking cultists, or give some some guns to help differentiate them. But I also think that so long as the paint schemes are different you will be OK - it's only going to be a bit of a problem if they are painted the same.

Strangely there are not a lot of DIY stores in Shanghai. Everything is made here but shipped to the rest of the world...Quelle galère !

Thanks Bother Payne. Indeed it´s a mix of dark eldar and elves, ghouls mostly

Correct, The branches part that is supposed to go in the back of their head. One internet cookie to you Bruticus

Actually, I´m a person that triple guess himself and the multiplication of minis helps me to loose my perspective.
I came back to modeling mostly because of modelers like you and the other Inq28 guys. My idea was to do small warband. Living in China and being to old to be a player I decided that I should try to sell what I was doing. I´m moving around the world and I can´t collect.
So one model became a unit with the idea that a buyer would most be inclined to buy an unit
Problem : I can only buy boxes and bits here.
Combining two boxes one jumping daemonette became ... 2 units of 10...
For the cultist, being Slaneesh followers, I thought that sacrificing their hands in an arco flagellant way would be cool. and I got carried away once again. one cultist became 10 cultists unit. How silly of me...
So I agree that it gets a little gimmicky the blades/hands. Any suggestion to fix that?
I´m working a bigger mutated cultist. I must resist to the idea of not building more.
I´m also working an a feminine shooting cultist.

I´m not a sure that I could get rid (or sell, I´m just looking to break even not to make any specific profit) one mini, unless it´s a character.
Maybe that´s what I should do try to model unit leaders rather than units. But... I don´t play so I don´t know what equipment makes a character cool ... or not...
I´m a slow painter and working on one model always gives me ideas for another one but I think I won´t mass paint them. I´ve never been able too.

The harpy is a good example. Nobody will interested unless she comes with an unit even if painted.
It´s a catch 22. I don´t play, I don´t collect and what I build won´t probably sell.
Probably end up in a trashcan on my move.

Thank you guys for stopping by and giving me your feedbacks.
I truly appreciate.

I don't game much with my minis either, so I just build mostly for fun, and I find making characters the most fun, but I can see the appeal of squads or even armies. I think you've got some models there that are as good or better as a lot of the character models people are making for inq28 at the moment, I think the harpy is a favourite.

If you want to make an army that looks good all together all I can suggest is that the daemonettes should be painted differently to the cultists because at the moment I think they are quite similar looking (bald heads, agile, jumping, two knife hands) and it might confuse people. I don't think you really need to change the models though, it's all good stuff.

Thanks.
I´m glad you like the harpy. She should receive some detailing.
The daemonettes and cultists will be painted differently.
The cultists will be in a restricted color palette. They are not even finished building yet. My idea was to have some tubing for their combat drug dispenser. But, once again, another valid point, on the similarities, I built the cultists after the daemonettes and wanted them to be coherent with the daemons but they turn out even too close. the daemonettes look now more or too human. I wanted the blades to mimic the claws of the daemonette is a strange dark homage from their flesh modeler but I think maybe I should get rid of the mask and get back to my cultist prototype.

the dark elves masks were easier to use but all the cultists now look way to similar and daemonette alike.
a "human" face or partial face could be fun to do now.

(Not to stir things up or anything, but) I'm inclined to disagree with the others - I think the cultists and Daemonettes look perfectly enough dissimilar, especially if they're going to have different paint schemes.

I was suggested also to give the cultists a clean shave in the back and give them a back piece that could support their combat drug dispensers and maybe some other details.
I think it's a brilliant idea.
What do yall think?

I think shaving their backs down is a good idea. Not too sure about the back piece - I think I'd have to see it first

I love the look/theme you're working on here.

I think your idea of "shaving" the backs of the cultists and then working in some drug vials and tube dispensers should work well. It'd be a very cool look, and help differentiate them from the daemonettes.
