Sorry for the noob question, but I'm seemingly at a loss

I tried via the Corvus Belli online store, but it won't let me register an account, because my country is not a selectable choice (the Philippines). Tried emailing them but no answer as of yet.

I next looked at some US and UK online stores (Wayland, etc.) but either the exchange rates (UK) or the shipping (US) is killing me.

I think my best chance at this point is an EU retailer, since the euro exchange rate is good enough and from prior experience, euro shipping isn't so bad. Problem is I have zero experience ordering from EU game stores. So if someone can suggest to me a good, reputable EU online store, not in the UK, from whom I can order icestorm, it would be much appreciated

If you have an FLGS, ask them. Otherwise, yeah, you're stuck with an online retailer. Pre orders went up today, so you can pre order right now.

Cb was at the event in Vigo, but they shoud get back to you soon, I'm guessing.

Would a Japanese retailer be good for you? iI know there are some Japanese players, too.

Isn't there another Filipino Infinity player here, HeartSerenade? Perhaps PM him and ask him how he gets his minis?

Would Australia be good, since they are closer than Europe?

As far as Australia goes, these guys http://thecombatcompany.com/postage-and-returns/ are generally considered (at least in my experience) to be pretty reliable and fair, but it says their international shipping starts at 3.99 and increases, so who knows how much it'd cost for something this size. If you want to look at Australia, you could get onto these guys and get a better quote?

I wish I had time for all the game systems I own, let alone want to own...

Thanks for the replies! Re: FLGS, I don't know any here that carry it, the shops here are mostly 40K and MTG (plus the boardgame crowd). I had not considered Japan or Australia, will check out the combat company

I'm guessing heartserenade orders his minis from abroad as well, so I'll pursue that lead as well. Thanks again all!

Dark Sphere have just started taking pre-orders, marginally cheaper than Wayland Games for UK orders (comes in at 63.80GBP inc. delivery, using Royal Mail)

Not sure how much you would have to pay for Europe orders through.

I've just gone to my CB shop account settings and Philippines is a selectable option.

Hi, I'm checking their store. In the Spanish version of the list, the Philippines are listed as "Filipinas" and in the English version as "Philippines". The list seems to follow the Spanish alphabetical order, so Phillippines is in the F part of the list.

It is up on Miniature Market now.... but it does not mention the Limited Edition merc mini that is suppose to come with it. Are they not getting that pre-order bonus? If so I guess I will not be ordering from there. Can this be confirmed?

I was about to post the same thing!

I'd like to get it from the Miniature Market, but, no special edition limited mini, no sale!

CB have been, typically, really inconsistent with their announcment of Icestorm and the CSU model.

From what I can gather, orders placed during the pre order period (July 28th to August 31) get the CSU merc, whether they're from your FLGS, an online store or directly from CB, or bought at the Gencon pre-release. Any SKUs packed after filling those orders will not have the CSU merc. The remainder will fill out the rest of the first 5000 copies. I've heard from other sources that the CSU merc will be in all of the first 5000 SKU's of Icestorm as well, but not in subsequent runs of it. Then there's the original news announcement that didn't mention the limited run of 5000, then Bostria off handedly mentioning to others at Vigo that there might be more runs after the first 5000, and the inclusion of the CSU merc was unlikely...

I love CB, they're a great company that make a product I adore and are very chatty with the community, which I like. But they really need to figure out how to do big product announcments. Icestorm showed they haven't got the hang of it yet.

Yes but that is my concern since places with the limited mini seem to state that. Miniature Market does not. So if it really is lacking it, then I will go elsewhere (my poor wallet). Can anyone confirm with them on the phone or something if they have it or not. I am just hoping their online thing is missing some info.

As far as I can see, it's not possible to pre-order Icestorm without the CSU mini, but I'd definitely get Miniature Market to confirm.

The CSU mini will definitely not be in copies after the pre-order, apart from those shops (like me) that are planning to buy extra pre-orders.

They could run things a bit tighter I agree, but I think 3rd edition Infinity has been better publicised than the launch of 40k 7th edition. And that's a company the size of CB compared to hundred-million dollar GW.

Shouldn't think Carlos has slept in his own bed for a month, he's been involved in that many website previews and shows (or so it seems).

Oh I agree, it just seems that the way they release information - snippets here and there, talks at conventions, etc, isn't suiting itself well to a big launch like 3rd edition. It's definitely got good publicity, but solid information hasn't been easy to find or decipher. The whole idea with parceling out information to websites works for month to month releases, but something like Icestorm, with limited edition models and rather unique pre order methods, should have all come from CB.

If they really felt the need to carry on with the whole parcelling out information through other websites idea, they should have had all of this information like stock quantities, limited edition models, additional runs, etc ready, in an initial information packet, right when they showed the teaser image for Icestorm with the mockups and unit sihlouettes. Then left the BoW reveal to just be the box contents itself.

Looks like we're good to go for ICESTORM at Miniature Market:

Aug 06 12:16 PM

It isn't clear in the listing for the preorder for Infinity Operation ICESTORM on whether or not this version also includes the limited edition CSU Operative?

That would make the mini total be 15 and not 14 as currently listed.

So, does the Miniature Market preorder version of ICESTORM have the limited edition CSU Operative?

Thanks!

Greetings,

Yes, our preorder copies of Operation Icestorm will include the Corporate Security Unit Operative.

Thank you for choosing Miniature Market!

Could it be possible to get them to update the info graphics on the website then? It still says 14 minis. I will take their word for it that it is correct but that is still very misleading until they correct it.

You could ask, I guess?

I think what it comes down to is that it is not possible to pre-order ICESTORM and NOT get the miniature, maybe?

Unless worldwide demand outpaces the 5000 (+/-) ICESTORM sets CB is planning on making and shipping?

Wayland Games have now stopped their £60 offer, however Dark Sphere still have it (I think about £3-4 for P&P). Comes with the special edition mini also (as they all seem to do at present!)
