So my club needed some Objective markers so we decided to have a comp, I'm not sure which is best out my 2 ideas:
The blue tac will be green stuff on the final piece.

Not much in the OP, did something go awry?

The latest Objective marker idea kicking around in my head was Roman numerals carved into either putty or this modeling paste I have, with the crevasses painted white and a glaze overlaid (to look like glowing numerical runes in the dirt).

And I guess I need to replace my Scouring set (which disappeared either at my game club or FLGS), which was "brick" plasticard with Arabic numerals painted on them (forming the numbers out of the bricks).

Well, there's a slight risk of gluing something together with it. Only slight, mind.

Looks good! Objective Markers can be a lot of fun. I made a set and sent them off to a friend last year for a secret santa gift ("deepstriking santa", we called it )

lds: I like it, but are you going to fit a # onto it for Maelstrom and/or Scouring missions?

I was trying to find a clever way to incorporate the numbers into mine, but in the end I took the not so subtle approach and called it a day:

Wow, those are all nice objective markers. I have always wanted to make some of my own, one of these days...one of these days. Just need to win the lottery so I will have plenty of time =P

Yep you really can go to town with them. I've got these two, a guardsman stoically protecting a comms relay and a couple of cultists summoning daemons:

Not really suitable for Maelstrom as they're on 60mm bases, but what the heck, I think they look cool. Yours looks like a good start, but I'd throw a few more bits on there. More lasguns or other equipment if you've got it.

Its not the most original idea but easy obj markers can be made from any extra banners/icons/bosspoles whatever your army uses that you may have laying around.

Also roman numerals on the icons solves the numbering issue and a NON overabundance of basing gives you a nice place to set a dice for mysterious obj.

Many obj markers are very nice looking (sockwithatiket's daemon summoning one is great!) but for gaming club obj markers I much prefer functionality to extravagance.
