To go along with my new Codex: Hive Spyrers, I am planning to get back to bashing together my plastic Spyrer models. These are very much still a work in progress. There are still mold lines to clean, green stuff and plasticard work to do, etc. Most of the work was done a couple of years ago, but I haven't shared these photos before. My green stuff and plasticard skills are quite a bit better now, so I plan to do some more work on these soon. Comments, suggestions and constructive criticism are always welcome!

The first thing you may notice is that I've made both male and female versions of all of the various types of Spyrers. I thought it was only fair.

Here are my Jakara. Yes, I plan to do something about their Tau feet. I am also thinking of adding a few more bits of "tech" to their shields. I am thinking maybe a few plates on the front face, and some sort of nodes or some such on the rear.

My Malcadons. One still needs her arm built. I have the bits, just need to do the work.

My Orrus. I'm not completely happy with their bolt fists, but I don't have the power fits bits it would require to pull them off better. They work ok though.

My Yeld. The wings on the one are just placeholders. I have some ideas of either making wings from plasticard, or maybe even creating something cool I can 3D print. (One has had a bit of an accident. Poor thing.)

Here is my Matriarch. I am thinking I will paint the furry cloak in various colors to represent the chameleon scales. The chainscythe turned out really nice, so I'm proud of that.

Finally my Patriarch. He used to have some really ugly claws attached to the backpack, with paper clips representing mechadendrites. I know I can do better now, so I've ripped them off in preparation for the attempt.

Intriguing stuff but 2 things you need to disguise the Marines and Dark Eldar more. I have a feeling the Scion box may be useful as well

"But me no buts! Our comrades get hurt. Our friends die. Falkenburg is a knight who swore an oath to serve the church and to defend the weak. He'd be the first to tell you to stop puling and start planning. Because what we are doing-at risk to ourselves-is what we have sworn to do. The West relies on us. It is a risk we take with pride. It is an oath we honour. Even when some soft southern burgher mutters about us, we know the reason he sleeps soft and comfortable, why his wife is able to complain about the price of cabbages as her most serious problem and why his children dare to throw dung and yell "Knot" when we pass. It's because we are what we are. For all our faults we stand for law and light.

Thanks. As I stated, these are still very much WIP. I plan to do some filing and greenstuff /plasticard work to help hide the origins - especially on the space marine bodies.

Don't have any Scion bits yet, but I am saving up to buy a box to try out an Arbites conversion I've been planning, so I should have some soon(ish).

I like it! As the previous poster said, the Dark Eldar and Space Marine parts need to be camouflaged a bit better though. Imperial Guard accessory bits are your friends here. If you can find any players at your FLGS who will trade you for some, or sell them for a few bucks, do it.

Jakara- Good start, but the place where the legs connect to the torso looks a bit awkward. Some accessories placed on the waist like they're clipped to the Jakara's belt would cover this up and help the models come together better. I recommend grenades (IG or SM) if the Jakara can carry them. Some pouches would also work. The heads of the right and left one also look a little Eldarish. This can be tricky, since GW makes almost no female heads that AREN'T Elf or Eldar (when I wanted some, I had to get another company's). Just be sure to file down the ears a bit. Also the feet, which you already know about. I used FW feet for some of my traitor guard vets, and I found that a little bit of green stuff on the ends to make a steel toed boot look worked well.

Malcadons- I like the gauntlets. Other than that, however, they look quite DE. Again, some IG and SM accessories might help. Also, on the leftmost figure, whittle off those spikes on her legs and she'll look a little more human assassin and a little less DE.

Orrus- Try sanding off the big Imperial eagles on the two male Orrus's chests. They're a group of clandestine killers pursuing their own self interests, not servants of the Emperor. File off that stray purity seal too, for the same reason. It'll also make them look a little less loyalist SM. I also think adding some extra wires all over their suits with guitar wire or green stuff would look really good. Remember to file the ears on that old DE head too.

Yeld- Probably the most DE looking of the lot. I'd file off those leg spikes, and add some tech bits from IG or SM models. See about adding some human gun bits to their arm guns. Scopes would be perfect, if you can get some. Possibly consider a head swap, or altering their helmets. The big thing here is that you don't want people mistaking them for DE Scourges.

Matriarch and Patriarch- These are my favorite models of the lot. The Matriarch looks a little DE, however. I'd whittle off the pointy blade/bone thing going through her ponytail and file down the ear tips, if they're visible. Then add some IG/SM accessories wherever they look good. Like the Orrus, the Patriarch needs that eagle filed off. Then give him whatever flashy add-ons you can to make him look like an imposing HQ. Good luck making those mech arms! There are lots of Necron, Tau, DE, and SM bits you could use.

Keep it up!

Thanks for all the thoughts you shared. We are on the same wavelength on most of them I think.
