Just got an email from Wayland Games informing me my Operation Icestorm will be delayed by two weeks, despite me emailing to confirm that my order would be despatched in the first batch the receive from CB. So, anyone pre-order and not recieve this email?

Hi Tyrannosaurus,

Your order will be dispatched from our first delivery from the supplier. This is not a specific problem to some or all our customers - all copies of Icestorm globally are delayed slightly (promotional copies aside of course). But the guys and gals at Corvus Belli are really fantastic to work with and are pulling out all the stops to get this product out to everyone.

Regards

Stuart

Ok thanks Stuart, obviously a little disappointed but if you haven't got them, you haven't got them. Thanks for the response

I think most of the United States was delayed until October. The reason was that demand was over twice what they had anticipated.

That's a good problem to have.

Also, check out my history blog: Minimum Wage Historian, a fun place to check out history that often falls between the couch cushions.

While it may be a good problem to have the fact the cb is keeping N3 relatively close to the vest makes it hard to introduce new players & it's frustrating seeing people unpacking & using their stuff who ordered recently while those in the states keep waiting even if we pre ordered months ago.

I wonder when Australia gets theres. I hope its before october cos Im getting it delivered to my door and need to be there to sign for it and I'll be busy. If I miss the initial delivery attempt, the post will more than likely lose the box. No idea if the tracking ID continues.

Except it is one that also would have easily been avoided by not having conflicting information, "limited models", and advertising it as "LIMITED TO 5000 COPIES WORLDWIDE!!!1!!".

It was never advertised as being limited to 5000 copies worldwide.

Delayed with element games too it seems.

I don't believe the word worldwide featured heavily in its promotion, but the impression was definitely that it was limited to 5k copies. Another run was discussed as being a possibility if the first 5k sold well, but nothing concrete was given.

As long as I get my copy and it has the sticker/CSU model, then I'm good.

That's my point - 'impression' =/= 'advertised'.

Bostria commented about the planned first run being 5k and that they expected that to last them through into early next year.

Didn't the '5000' bit come from one of the Beasts of War videos? I believe that was the number out by them on how many would get the CSU, Carlos (the CB rep) said it was for all preorders, so I don't think CB ever put that number on it.

NNOOOOOOOOOOO!

I'm moving next week, and O:I was going to get me through a month of being the most broke I have ever been in my entire life.

Suppose I'll just have to finish my Lizardmen.

Yeah moving can do that to you.

Element games says its to be expected between the 26th and 27th of this month.

Stamp duty is a PITA. And even the Solicitors want paying!

That date range is acceptable. I'm moving on the 26th.

Fingers crossed!

Just seen this on the Element Games site:

"72 In Stock. Dispatch due: Today"

And then on my account page:

"Collect today at 16:00"

MASSIVE GRIN.

I ordered from Wayland. I heard the stuff about 5,000 only, and Wayland had their pre-order up quickly with a load of cobblers about their special relationship with CB, so I panicked and ordered. Now Element have theirs out, Wayland don't, and since the 'thanks for the cash, you muppet' email on 27 July I have not heard a single thing from Wayland whatsoever. I deserve the wait I am getting, but never, ever again. Kudos to everyone who already has it

/dons hair shirt

Edit - ok, I'll rephrase that - I am somewhat disappointed that Wayland had pre-orders up first in this country but are not able to deliver anywhere near to first, and that as the date has slipped I haven't had any communication regards the delay. This particular event has not especially improved my view of Wayland. Still, caveat emptor and all that.

Yeah, I ordered from Wayland aswell due to hearing about the limited availability and them having it up pretty fast. I didn't want to risk waiting until Elemental had them up and maybe being to late. Ah well, I have no one to blame but myself for not being patient enough .

Didn't even get a mail that it's been delayed though, I had to read that on here. Good thing I still have enough other stuff to get by in the meantime.

Hi Icestormers,

We're really disappointed here that despite us being amongst the first to put in our order for Icestorm (granted it is quite massive!) we are left waiting for it to ship. We have staff ready to go as soon as it arrives and they'll be working around the clock to get them all shipped out.

We have sent out emails to all of our customers updating them to the situation at least twice (check your junk mail if you've not had a peep from us!) We are doing everything we can to apply pressure on the parties involved to ensure we get it out to our customers as quickly as possible. We know that the guys and gals at Corvus Belli are fantastic and are pulling out all the stops to try and get things moving more quickly so we hope it won't be much longer.

And in case there were any concerns, we are assured that everyone that has ordered from us so far is getting the limited edition version with the Corporate miniature included.

Regards

Stuart

Did CB give you reason you've not had the gear shipped yet?

None of my business I know, but with a massive order you'd think you'd get priority.

Fingers crossed for your customers and Icestorm event!

Thank you for the reply Stuart. Though we aren't Icestormers yet, which is rather the point

If (in my case) the mails have gone into spam it would be strange as all your promotional stuff and order confirmation reaches me properly. I got an advert just yesterday for Icestorm.

Regardless - your last line above, can you clarify - I assume everyone who PRE-ordered with you will absolutely certainly be getting the limited edition as was offered. Do you mean even those who ordered after the pre-order may also get it? (Which is fine, just wanting to make sure there is no question atall over the pre-orders).

Thanks

Really disappointed that other retailers have them. There's 54 [admittedly without LE figure] sitting in stock with Element Games. It would be with me by Saturday. Would probably cancel my order with Wayland if I hadn't already called off the game I had planned this weekend.

Honestly, I'd swing for the Element option. There will be LOADS of the SE mini on Ebay. I'll probably sell mine.

Wayland get a lot of stick for shoddy inventory listings, slow delivery and the like and it sounds like this isn't their fault but daaaamn, being the only retailer in the country that DIDN'T get their (massive) order...

I think Stuart has already answered your question.

Yes everyone who has pre-ordered from us will get the Ltd mini. We ordered a lot of extra stock so we will likely have lots left over too post launch.

Yes it is frustrating to be waiting, for us as well as you guys. We are passing on information as we get it.

We have Carlos onsite at the moment and we are following him around checking to see if he has a Lorry of OP:Icestorm in his pockets!

Just cancelled my order with Wayland, don't want to wait. Bought some stuff from element games and it was dispatched same day and turned up the next day, brilliant service, will buy it from them instead
