Great looking work, the camouflage scheme on the tank is awesome, reminds me of WW2 German schemes. Keep it up!

Looking really good. I do love the ww2 German camo as well.

A little suggestion, the vehicles do look a little clean, you've done the dust around the bottom, some bullet holes and the wash around the rivets and panel lines... might I also suggest a little bit of paint chipping and maybe some more randomish brown smears to represent dirt? What you've done looks great, but the paintwork itself looks a little too much like it just rolled off the showroom floor. Maybe you could do a brown filter as well just to tone it down a little bit.

Also I'm not sure if you have or haven't, but try a gloss varnish before applying the wash around the rivets and panel lines. A gloss varnish will mean the wash pools up more around the rivet instead of soaking in to the surrounding area. Maybe you already tried it, just a suggestion

Other than that, I love it. They really look awesome, my suggestions are just nitpicking on how you might improve it further

(also as a fellow DKOK'er your thread title did make me LOL )

Thanks skink, I've never tried the gloss first. I'll do that on the next model and see if I like it! Sounds like I will tho I'm thinking the next model will be a hellhound after the avenger is finished

If you've never tried it maybe try it on a test piece first and see if you like the effect. Just make sure you airbrush the gloss varnish nice and smooth, then when it's good and dry/cured (I recommend waiting a day to make sure) just apply the pin wash and the smooth glossy surface should help the wash pool better around the rivets and in to the panel lines.

I really like this thread. The photo's of the bases are really helpful, I've been trying to figure out a good way to build a cheap WW1/2(ish) vibe into my own chaos stuff and your technique looks super rad.

Thank you Peter! if you have any questions feel free to ask. I don't mind shareing my techniques, expcially when 3rd party resin bases are so damn expensive. lol.

This is a handsome looking force already, but god DAMN that fighter looks ace! The painted-on glass effect always looks a little cartoony for my tastes, but the yellow really pops and the grey is super nice to look at.

That looks really great.

Can I ask specifically what greys you used on the fighter?

Brother SRM, i agree about the windows, but i botched the masking job and couldn't get the paint off the glass with out making it all foggy, so i did what i could. i will say it's going to save me hours of painting for interiors lol.

Skink, i'm using Vallejo Model Air airbrush paints, Dark sea gray, Light gray, and Black Grey (Yes that's a color lol)

That's really some nice work you've put into the models! I especially like the Infantry bases, the heavy weapons crew look excellent!

I'm not sure what FW make their windows from, but most plastic canopies you can just scratch the paint off with your finger, if you accidentally scratch the canopy you can carefully sand it back and polish it to make it transparent again and you can then (which I personally haven't done) dip it in future floor polish.

Cool, thanks, I might steal those colours and use from for some tanks, I like grey vehicles but can never manage to pick tones that work

I love your heavy weapons teams and the way it comes across as a mini diorama is fantastic. The way you carry across the same theme for your flying bases is also really quality work
