Remember the Fallen is a scenario for two players, fielding around 100 points worth of models. After a battle, there are many battlefield duties that must be seen to. What these objectives are varies from army to army - Marine Apothecaries gathering progenoids and sacred wargear, Ork Doks looking for experimental material, Eldar gathering soulstones - but in this scenario, both sides' post-battle clean-up crews have encountered each other through sheer bad (or good, depending on your point of view) luck.

Forces
Any infantry models from the chosen codex, up to a maximum value of 100 points. These models need not be taken as a unit - individual models may be chosen at the cost of upgrading a unit with additional models. However, no weapon upgrades can be bought, other than for squad leaders, unless they can be bought be the whole squad (for example, chaos marines upgrading to a CCW or Fire Warriors swapping for Carbines)

Table
A 4x4 table, divided into quarters and covered with plenty of terrain, including destroyed vehicles, corpses and craters.

Objectives
10 Objective Markers worth 1 VP each. Each player takes turns placing objectives, at least 8" away from each other.

Deployment
The player who wins first turn chooses a table quarter.

Game Length
The game lasts until all objectives have been claimed, or one player has no models remaining.

Special Rules
Objective Secured: In order to claim an objective, a model must spend a full turn within 3" of an objective marker doing nothing. Once an objective has been claimed, remove it from the board and put it in the player's casualty pile.

What's a 'Special or Heavy weapon' mean in regard to xenos codices?

No gun platforms for Guardians, no big shootas in Ork squads, et cetera. It's a bit of a common-sense rule that might need to get more clearly defined.

Balanced Game: Noun. A game in which all options and choices are worth using.

What Rake said - would 'No model may take any weapon options not available to the whole squad' be clearer? I didn't mean to exclude squad leader options is the thing.

Not really. Kill Team has specific missions and Specialists and so on, not to mention the 'everyone is independent' thing. If you want under these rules, you could take three marines and have them operate as a squad. Also, under these rules, a single HQ character with some wargear is just as valid as a mob of thirty grots. Probably not as effective as the grots, but a valid choice.

It's kind of really unclear, yes. And also kinda unfair. Why do Fire Dragons get to have Meltaguns and Guardsmen don't?

Are melee upgrades allowed? What about pistols? Grenades?

Why are fire dragons the ones retrieving soulstones? What's on the table that's worth using a meltagun against? Other than a Terminator, I suppose.

Can the whole squad take a pistol? Then you can have the pistol. Can only a limited number of models in the squad take one? Then no.

For Fire Dragons, ANYTHING is worth using a Meltagun against. It's one of their most charming features.

There are so many holes in these rules it's not funny. How do Eldar grenade packs work? How do I take individual models if there is no upgrade cost? Can I take a Master of Ordinance and just shell everyone? What about those 10-point inquisitorial psykers? Does deep striking still work?

Well, how would you approach those things?

Technically, yes, you can take a master of ordnance and just shell everyone... but you'll lose if you do, because he can't wander around capping things and is unlikely to be able to kill more than one model a turn.

I don't see anything wrong with the Inquisitorial psykers. Why are they a problem?

Deep Striking... well, it's not mentioned in the rules, so yeah, why wouldn't it work? It's not a hole in the rules, it doesn't break the game, so why is it an issue?

I don't know, how DO Eldar grenade packs work?

How do you take individual models? What units are you thinking of in this case? Guardsmen? Seems fairly simple to just extrapolate from the squad costs.

Why so hostile in your questioning? Have I offended you somehow?
