Hey guys, sooo I have sat down and committed to writing out my model back log for the systems I play a couple weeks ago. I created this log as with "The End Times" for Warhammer Fantasy has sparked my interest to finally break into lizardmen.

However I will not commit to Fantasy until my back log is complete, at least the 40k portion of it as I am waiting on a masterclass book from Angel Giraldez (Infinitys painter) to improve my air brushing skills. My hope with this thread is to have a running tally, a photo compilation, and feedback on my progression with these army's I am looking to finish. FYI the added nid models (Tyrannocyte, Venom/nuero/zoanthrope) that have not been released yet are added as they are pre-ordered

Nice! I like how you managed to achieve the older carnifex aesthetic with those armor plates on the sides of the face.

Thanks BC!!! I plan on doing a lot more touch backs by adding green stuff "Barnacles" on the claws like old one eye. I am considering the idea of painting him in his 3rd ed style with my colors.

Another Update!! Got some wraiths on the painting table, I need to finish off 2 for my back log so here I have 1 painted to my intended scheme and the other 2. C&C Appreciated/Welcome.

That’s quite the pile of minis to get through. How fast do you generally work? That’d be a few years at the pace I chug though things. It can be daunting to look at the to-do list in one big chunk, but it feels so good when you check things off of it.

Well if I set goals and commit to them I can comfortably accomplish 250 pts a month as I have just came through an escalation league with my tyranids having seen me build and paint 1750 pts over the course of 7 months. Though with my job and current events I have been a little busier then normal so my painting has been confined to weekends and the odd day off.

Made some headway on my carnifex. Did some dremel work to represent a plasma bolt. Let me know your thoughts.

Hey guys, another update. Did some greenstuff "Barnacles" and cleaned him up a bit.

Hey guys this should be my final Pre-painted post on old one eye. I am happy with the green stuff and hope it captures the old one eye style without running away with all the "barnacles". Let me know if you think I should add more or if I hit the nail on the head.

Got some paint onto my old one eye, The skin tone is done! On to clean up then claws. C&C Welcome. Also help me pick my next project

Completed the claws and talons, Thoughts on my progression? I am also wondering how I should do his injury. It is a toss up between a plasma burn, like it has been recent, or bone.

Well I got some more work done on OOE I finished up his bone wound and his fleshy bits. Im stumped on how I should paint the barnacles, does anyone have any good tips?

I like the contrast with the red on black carapace, but it looks like the black is really flat compared to the rest of the model. The barnacles look good. They stand out just enough without looking out of place. I always liked Old One Eye myself.

You're braver than I (and most others I'm sure) for actually taking stock of all your unpainted stuff. Hope it keeps you motivated!

I found that running a blog on blogspot is helping me tackle my backlog.

You can also track what percentage of painted vs unpainted models you're on, which you can see on my blog (link in sig).

Hey guys, here are the next models of the log, Spore mines!!! Sooo exciting. I've got 3 Meiotic spores and 9 spore mines. Simple color scheme, nothing special.

I took a bit of time to sort through a box of tyranids a friend off loaded to me, ill update the back log once I get through the final count, and I am taking a break from the nids to paint some Necrons. Heh yeah, except I need to update my list as I have recently come into a large tyranid force including 2 deathstorm boxes, Flyrant, warriors, genestealers, fexs.... To name but a few.

Alright I got a few days left of my time off to make a good showing of effort so here is my WIP of the Triarch Stalker I've had sitting around for a year or so!!!
