I just bought Nagash, and I figured I may as well chronicle my painting of him. However, this wont just be me painting Nagash. No, thats far too boring. Nagash himself is actually the very last thing I'll be doing here. I spent $100 dollars on this model, and I'll be damned if I'm wasting even a single piece off of his holy sprue (Even if that means spending more money). And it just so happens that my vampires worship Nagash, so I figured this is the perfect opportunity to make some terrain! As far as I know no one else has made terrain out of Nagash's extra bits, so that's a plus.

First up: The Spirit Claw
I decided to use the throne from "Escape from Goblin Town" as an altar, with the spirit claw coming from a crack in the floor. My camera died while taking pictures, expect more of them soon.

Well you've got my attention, it looks like your off to a great start .
I like the style of that altar piece your using, it feels perfect for this kind of project, plus I look forward to seeing how you paint this monster,
as I doubt my Nagash will be ready for paint any time soon.

Thanks! Right now I just need to greenstuff some of the cracks and remove some minor mold lines before priming. Though, one thing I cant figure out is what to do with the back of the piece. The back of the rock is just completely hollow, which looks pretty weird if you place it anywhere that isn't on the very edge of the table.

Small update, need opinions. Should I keep the ruby and flag, or do they seem out of place?
I'm not entierly sure how to go about painting the rock, I'm thinking of either making it just plain old stone or Obsidian. Oh, and ignore the blue-tac, its just there to hold together the sub-assemblies to give a better idea of the finished thing. They'll just be glued on regularly, so their wont be a mound around the flag and you'll see the stone behind the gem slightly.

The flag seems a little strange. The gem could fit, depending on how it is mounted.

You are off to a cool start. I'm interested in the chest from the Empire Cannon sprue you have underneath the platform. Are you hoping to have an underground part to the terrain piece or will the platform above be suspended in the air?

Looking forward to seeing this progress

Bye bye Dakkadakka, happy hobbying! I really enjoyed my time on here. Opinions were always my own :-)

Its hard to see from the angle I took the pictures, but the throne is actually held up a few feet off the ground, the treasure chest just being the ground under it (It helps with stability.).
