So I got this kit from Sharkmounted lasers for my birthday and built it over the weekend. Also got a first layer of paint and some minor weathering on it done. I'm looking to do more weathering, some decal, and stencil work to really get it realistic looking. I cant recommend this kit enough, its HUGE. I'm waiting on the cargo flat cars and track but its going to make a great addition to my gaming table.
My looted chimera trukk and a tyrinid biker nob for scale. Comments and feedback are welcome. I'll update more images when I can!

Your paintjob looks really good on it, just not sure what its supposed to be? I guess futuristic train but it doesn't really look imperial at all in its aesthetics.

The eagle motifs will come in the next round of painting and weathering. I wouldn't be 40k with out some skulls and eagles.

I would say more steam punkey for imperial add pointless cogs and bits that serve no purpose.
Also in the 41st millennium there is only war! I see no guns! or walls round the top for a firing point for defence for mechanicum thralls to stand.

Add some stubby wings to make it into an Imperial bomber plane. I like the paintwork.

Thunderhawk/train! My god that is similar to the body design for a thunderhawk. Maybe aerodynamics change in the far future.

Looking good. I hope you include a quad autocannon or similar as a defensive weapon on one of the flat cars. Hmm, keeping with the 40K theme, modelling some of the flat cars as tank/vehicle transporters would also be nice.

Thats brillant. I'm sure I can find something 40k tank to mount to one of the flat cars. Make little chocks and chain mounts for it.

Not sure if you have it glued yet or not. but it looks like the top 2 panels on the last picture are on backwards, the light blue highlights are facing towards the front of the train, the rest of the highlights are facing back

I do love me some trains, and I am going to do a 40K armored train someday. Does shark mounted make tracks, I wonder? Keep up the good work!

That's a cool idea and excellent painting so far. I agree it could use a bit more converting, but I think it has an interesting sci-fi look already. I'm looking forward to seeing the next update!

And it could be a damaged tank on its way to a repair facility - that might save you some money over buying a brand new kit.

So I got a hydra kit with my tournament winnings this weekend. I'll mount the flak gun one of the cars and make the chimera hull into a burnt out wreak on of the the flat cars. That is once they arrive in the mail.

Very cool! I wanna see where you're going with this paint job before I comment on it. Looking good so far.
Right now it looks a bit plain to be a product of the Forge World. I think some Stormraven bits can really do this thing justice, either as a train car or as a pre-Heresy imperial bomber of sorts. I would NOT be able to resist temptation in purchasing a whole stormraven just to improve on this train car!
Very nice work.
