Beasts of War released their winners list from the nominations category on Sunday night, well worth a watch:

http://www.beastsofwar.com/awards-2014/show4-finals/

Public voting for both nominations and award winners, Infinity got 'Best Sci-Fi game' and Angel Giraldez got 'best painted miniature' for his Kum Bikers.

Other nominations for Infinity were both the Antipodes and Kum Bikers nominated for the 'Best Sculpt'.

The game beat some stiff competition in the form of X-Wing (which has grown massively in the last year) and also 40k.

Worth a watch even beyond Infinity, there are some quite cool products here that I wasn't aware of and have now looked into as a result!

Is there a way of seeing a list of winners of each category without having to watch the video?

“Good people are quick to help others in need, without hesitation or requiring proof the need is genuine. The wicked will believe they are fighting for good, but when others are in need they’ll be reluctant to help, withholding compassion until they see proof of that need. And yet Evil is quick to condemn, vilify and attack. For Evil, proof isn’t needed to bring harm, only hatred and a belief in the cause.”

I'm certain that 40k is anything but "stiff" competition. Flaccid competition seems like the apt description.

I think it is worth noting that BoW draws a large pro-Infinity audience. I am not all that surprised to see it win. Glad to see it win, goes without saying. The Kum bikers, well, those painted minis will stand up to anything. Angel will have a hard time (or not) topping the quality of those paint jobs. Phenomenal work.

Nice to see Infinity win. I thought X-wing was going to win it to begin with.

In BOW's sculpting, painting and scifi vid, the nominations for best scifi game were X-wing, 40k, Dropzone Commander, Infinity, Warzone Resurrection, Deadzone, Firestorm Armada, SpaceHulk, Attack-Wing, and Relic Knights.
Finalists being Dropzone Commander, Infinity, X-Wing and Deadzone.

So both of GW's offerings never made it to the finals and rightfully so. Spacehulk, even as popular as it has been, pales in comparison to the competition.

However, GW's Horus model not only made it to BOW's finals for sculpt, but it won beating out the Antipodes and the Kum Riders.

They had to give GW something....or they would sue them for using images of their products
TBH I dont see Horus as so amazing model as they did, its nice thats sure but it dosnt strike me as awesome.

Every Nomad kid want to be a Tomcat when they grow up.

Although BoW didn't give anything, it was entirely user nominations and then user votes.

I think it is an ugly piece of work, but no uglier than much of the 40k line. And what's with the Sauron's Eye belt buckle? For the record, the mini looks nothing like Horus anyway. Horus looks like this image

I wonder if Angel will include painting tips etc for the Kum riders in his book. I bet yes.

Those 4Ground buildings look very nice.

I'd say it's deserved. Infinity is pretty much the best rule-set for fun and interesting game play I have come across. I just wish they could get some people to proof them a little better. There's quite a few situations where trying to read exactly "RAW" gets into some pretty murky waters. To be fair the wiki with the constantly updating clarifications and FAQ is an amazing resource and helps significantly with this.

Hopefully N3 will be better for this. Lots of things I've read about it say that they tightened up their wording.

Their wording in N3 is as taut as Warmachine. I'm very impressed by it. It could be my favorite ruleset.

Well then, I am intrigued. I've expressed the sentiment multiple times that my ideal game would be written by Corvus Belli and playtested/edited by Privateer Press. I just wish I could find some people who played it. I haven't played for ages!

Huh, I guess I'm quite similar to the BoW crowd without having visited their forums/watched more than 2 videos (Infinity Icestorm videos)

I wish I had time for all the game systems I own, let alone want to own...

A well deserved win. Should have gotten best sculpt as well. Their minis blow GW's out of the water.
