So i finally got my first unit of shoota boys finished. I decided to batch paint the whole bunch. Now afterwards, 11 figures was way to much to paint at the same time. However, i´m quite pleased how they turned out!

Love these! Brilliant work mate.

The skin tones on those green dudes are fantastic, well done.

What process did you go through to highlight and shade them so well?

Looks great, love the yellow. Is that a barbell in the ones hand? The only thing that doesn't sit right with me is the cleanliness of the weapons. They must be freshly assembled or just looted. Keep up the great work!

There is not this idea.

I like 'em. Nice to see some rank and file boyz too. They've got style.

Cheers m8, i appreciate it a lot!

Its actually quite simple:

1. Add a Layer of warboss green over a black undercoat that has been drybrushed with a light brown (the brown helps with the coverage, in this case, i used ochre brown from vallejo, but you could also use zandri dust)

2. Next, wash the skin with Biel-tan Green.

3. Apply warboss green to the raised areas, leaving the wash in the recesses.

4. Apply skarsnik green to the raised parts , leaving some of the previous warboss green showing. (This isn´t really a highlight, more like a layer, but leaving some of the previous color showing.)

5. glaze the skin with waywatcher green, this really helps to blend the layers togheter and adds a great finish.

6. (Optional) glaze with bloodletter on the bottom lip.

This method is actually very quick for painting ork boys fast, because you only need one layer of each step to get a good coverage.

I also spray my models with Purity Seal Satin Spray for two reasons:

1. It protect the models.

2. It adds harmony to the model by "binding" all the colours togheter with the same finish.

Thank you!

haha well actually, it´s the grenade arm that comes with the orc boy sprue. For some reason, no matter how hard i tried to position the damn arm, it looked silly.

Most of the time i go for a clean style, but i might add some more weathering when i get to the nobs!
