So I used to have a blog on here that I was working on a few years ago and stopped...mostly cause I owed someone money and he liked orks....and yea...no more orks, but good news everyone!...I've been hording up orks by the hundreds....and I'm thinking it's time to get back and make a new blog so people can look on an enjoy all the ork goodies I'm going to be working on...as it's almost 6am in the morning I don't have enough light to take pics of the stuff I have but I'll take some later on in the day to show what I've stored up...only a couple warboses are now built (a metal warboss with chainaxe, ghazzy, and a plastic AoBR warboss all customized up), but the big thing is that I've used a circle cutter and thick-ish plastic card and have extended the bases, like make a 45 or so mm circles and put them together and put them onto a 40mm base so ghazzy isn't overflowing the base and getting all chipped up from use, all the warbosses will have extended bases this way, I'll be taking pictures of these as well for your viewing eyes...I guess I have 8 old metal meganobs built as well, 6 with kombie scorchas and 2 with twinlinkked shootas

Base theme-wise I'm going for a desert look using 1-2mm thick sheets of cork torn up to look like cracked earth...like a salt flat...you'll see it in the pictures...I should try and paint one to see how it ends up....or I might just scrap it all and get that cracking earth paint that GW makes and do them up that way...probably get you guys to choose for me lol, anyways read away and I'll start posting pics tomorrow

Heres something I've been working on...it was a double-wide leman russ tank built when I used it...had brass casings superglued all over the thing it also had space marine predator sponsons glued into the side of the hull...that's why the plastic card is there...unfortunately I had to scrap the turret and will probably get a battlewagon turret for it, also made a custom barrel...it's still wip though...have to get the rest of the turret to really work on it, but here are the pictures

ALSO I tried out the Agrellan earth last night on an unpainted base....and wow...I'm probably going to peel off the cork on those 82 bases and get to work priming/undercoating and putting that stuff on them...what an awesome difference those make...so nice

That double tracked Looted Wagon / Battlewagon looks great, the Battlewagon turret would look cool or you could fabricate your own out of Plastikard, either way good work! I'm looking forward to seeing this progress

So Just a little update on number of orks I seem to have counted up so far and what I intend to do as far as steps go:

110 AoBR boyz including the big shoota boyz
5 modified AoBR boyz...basically ones without matching arms that I ended up cutting off the matching arm so I could make them whatever I want
17 AoBR nobz
3 AoBR warboosses
10 partially built boyz...3 are just torsos and legs 5 have shootaz and 2 are slugga choppas

60 off sprue unbuilt boyz from the actual box sets
1 box of 16 boyz still on sprue
1 box of 10 boyz still on sprue

Also have 6-9 AoBR deffkoptas and 8 metal meganobz and 3 unbuilt killakanz

So yea...almost 200 orks to build, now these will end up being different kinds of orks, boyz for sure....but I have 16 burnas stashed away to make a medium unit of burna boyz from, lots of rokkit launchas and big shootas, also the bits to make mek boyz out of....one of the things I need right now is vehicles, other than my semi complete looted tank I have nothing. So that means I have to go get some trukks maybe 2 of 3, a battlewagon, 2 dakka jets, some mek gunz (I'm not sure how many of those to get 2-3?) and maybe a deffdread...I'd like to get a stompa as well...but would that fit in a deffskullz themed army?

I'll probably pick up a stormclaw set for the formation...and the kanz and nobz and I don't have any gretchin yet...so those are all welcome additions to my growing horde, the space wolves I can sell orrrrr save them since I play space wolves as well...I have to rebase/strip the whole army, but that can be for another thread to show the progress of that...or on here sometime....but right now it's time for the orks!

I really need to get ahold of the orks supplement codex as well...

ohhh and I finally ordered a non chinese airbrush! So excited! I ordered a badger patriot 105...can't wait for it to get here so I can start priming stuff...I have infinity models to prime as well....so many games...so little time lol

Not much of an update...I've been at work so I couldn't work from home the past 3 days and work on anything...but I have a test base to show you! now it's not undercoated at all...so the black is there...I mostly wanted to try out that agrellan earth paint...and it's amazing!...I drybrushed with 2 different colors of bone white..the lighter color just focused on the cracked areas, and I used a thin coat of devlan mud on it to tie it all in....the drilled hole was another small test to see if the surrounding paint would flake away from the drilling...an no flaking! such an amazing paint

More work on the tank tonight since I worked from home...I need to get something for rivets still...I had those tiny 1mm half beads...and lost the little baggie of them that had 1500 in it....sigh....anyhoo here are the pics

So my friend donated me a turret which I humblely accepted...I still need the para scope and the stikkbomb chukkas for the sides, I magnetized, the top turret...couldn't find the trigger handle for the pintle machinegun so I stuck a thin piece of plastic card rod there...I want to give the ork on the top one of those screaming faces that's missing an eye...I just gotta dig him up...anyways hered a pic...do you think the gun barrel is too long? I kinda like it

There we go...I think this tank is about done! I rivited those pieces of plastic card on the sides...I'm probably going to put an extra pieces of card on one of them just to make up for a lack of decoration there, I trimmed about hald an inch on the inside of the barrel to make it shorter...it realy was too long, I picked out an ork head for the guy on the top...and I just need those stikkbomb chukkas and para scope to finish off the top and then I can glue it all together, I'll probably add more to it...I don't have ALOT to do until I can start painting my bases...here's a couple pics....c and c are always welcome too...I need the help lol

Well...the only reason agrellan earth turned out so well was because there was no paint on the base at all, was just a bare plastic base, I tried undercoating 5 bases and then put it on..and the results aren't near the same at all....so that's a bit depressing....maybe I should just get custom resin bases for my orks, like the ones from secret weapon miniatures...getting tired of pounding my head up against a wall on this one, so I might scrap it and do that instead, the only issue will be weighting the bases, but I guess I can use my dremel and hollow out underneath of the bases...I'll order some and try it out...a bit of a set back but it won't slow me down!

Alright so I decided to order resin bases from tiny worlds, since they made resin bases in 32mm and 50mm so I ordered 2 sets of 32mm a set of 40mm and a set of 50mm of urban rubble bases...here is the pics of what I ordered, boyz will be mounted on 32s nobs will be mounted on 40s and warbosses and whatnot will be mounted on 50s

Just a small update, the tank is done, everything is glued on and magnetized where magnetization needs to go...and while I still wait for my airbrush....and now my bases, I have ideas for trukks! I want to do like what will be in the pic I'll post along with this...doesnb't look too hard...and I'll have extra bits to do whatever with...love it, I'll take pics of the tank in the morning when it's brighter out...comment away
