Just finished these guys.
Well, mostly. Varnishing and a gloss varnish on the lenses.. But my neck is killing me (I need to work on my painting posture...)

As always my usual disclaimer - nothing special, but I this time REALLY like how they turned out. I guess I "leveled up" so to speak. First attempt with layering on the back of the cloaks... Mixed my own colours, so the transitions could have been better for lack of experience. Edge highlighting is getting better too.
Staring at the uploading pics I realise I should clean the barrels which have some residue left from the drill - used the barrel for the wire to hold em, so I just noticed now. Oh well.

Thank you guys

I like how the bone-coloured cloth turned out.. Now I really need to work on my lenses.
And mould lines. I always miss mould lines, no matter how hard I stare at the models.

Okay, spiffin minis and all, DA were my first army for that matter back in 3rd, but what i want to reply to is your comment about posture. Thats something we should all think about, and ive found aside from mainting a healthy lifestyle overall, stretching and sitting up straight are the best methods to avoid sore necks and stiff everythings.

Stretch before you paint and in regular intervals, nothing extreme but actually stand up and twist around, touch your toes, the stretches they taught you in school. It goes a long way, you feel better, youre more patient, its easier to sit up straight and the actual paintjobs come out better as such.

Looking good and always nice to feel like you have leveled up. I really like the detail that you put into the bases.

I just tend to lay the mini down on the table and then bend over it. Like some kind of painting rodent. Gets strain on your neck and shoulders VERY easy, but I somehow feel I can paint that way the best. I often find myself trying to straighten up, put my elbows on the table and paint on eye level... only to find myself down again 3 minutes later with some fiddly details that need painting. If I can stop doing that, this will already help tremendously

It is so astonishingly easy to do bases like that... takes hardly any time or skill and really makes a huge difference. Once you go that route, you never go back to "black sand" bases

And dayum, I just noticed I missed an entire part of ammo tubing on one of them... Gotta crack out the pot of Averland and do that before I varnish them today Oo
