I have a habit of finding it difficult to part with the boxes my minis came in, after I have assembled them. Even if I put the remaining bitz in a seperate bitz box and literally nothing remains in the product box except the assembly instructions and empty sprues.

I just... like the artwork on the box (am talking about the old GW boxes, not the new ones that really look bleh) so I have a lot of boxes in my store room. Anybody else does this?

I use them to store bits.

I’ve got boxes dating back to the RT days. Why yes, I am a packrat. For a while I kept all the backers from blister packs, but I tossed those a while ago.

I store miniatures in an RT rhino box. The new boxes aren't really that appealing to me compared to the old ones.

There is not this idea.

I used to, but I realized that there's a bit too much hoarding goes on in my family.

So they're all recycled now. Or burned. All must burn.

I do keep the instructions, though.

I used to save them to store bits and such but after a while, that takes up room and they are often flimsy. So I only have a few of them in use that way anymore
usually, Anymore, I will use them to spray in when sealing models until they getcrushed or something and the smaller ones just get chucked.

I've kept two old Terminators boxes just to use it and the divided styrofoam inside to store minis under assembly/being painted safely. Other than that, the only thing I've hoarded have been the plastic clam shells my LotD models came in - great for transporting that one squad you want to fiddle with at work, or my portable assembly kit.

I keep them all yeah. I don't know why, I don't use them for anything, and I don't really hoard anything else.

I used to keep them too. Then I moved, and nearly all of them, together with half a ton of empty sprues, went to the trash.

I only kept two: A 2nd edition ugly, blue-ish Rhino box where I "store" my Epic 40.000 Orks -mostly plastic, no harm done-, and the big huge Stompa box. For some reason, my cat took a liking to it. He'll take naps in there while I'm working on my miniatures, and will even meow and caterwaul if he ever finds it closed. And who am I to question the choices of my feline overlord, but a mere human?

I keep large boxes for storing spare bits/sprues.

I keep smaller boxes because reasons.

I keep the big 2 part boxes for transporting armies. Besides that, once assembled, I toss small boxes

A new day, a new time zone.

I used to hold onto them, because the boxes were cool and then I knew what those last few bits I kept in them were from.

Then I realized how much space I was wasting, and freed up a couple of shelves my consolidating the sprues and chucking the empty boxes.

Most of my old kits boxes are used to store parts and bitz.

Larger boxes (usually from kits I got for Christmas) such as the huge trench system or A huge battle force (baneblade, 3 russ, 3 hellhound + troops) and so on. are either bits or actual holding troops or tanks.

I've started turning my old boxes into tiny, two-tiered paint shelves to make the most of the small space in my apartment. With a little cutting and taping they work great, AND you still get to see the cool artwork.

I keep them. Unless I have multiples, then I'll toss all but one of that box. The bigger boxes are what I use for transporting the models the short walk from my house to my friend's/only opponent. I converted a dreadnought box into a transport case for a painting project when I went away to camp, though that is largely wrecked now.

For some reason I feel sad seeing one in the garbage...and I shouldn't. Right now most of the boxes we have, have leftover bits in them, but we should really condense them down.

Most of our boxes just have GW painted models on them, and I must be one of the only people out there that actually has a visions sub....

GW released an artwork book about a month or ago for shield of baal, and I considered it. However, it was softback. Also, by the time the art book had been out for a couple weeks, I had both leviathan and exterminatus in hardback...so the only art I might not get in book format would have been from the deathstorm box. As cool as that is, I wasn't going to pay $49.50 for it, especially a softback book.

wow lots of hoarders in this thread. keeping empty sprues is even weirder than keeping the box.

usually when im done with a sprue i snap it in half then chuck it in the garbage then stomp on it.

or snap it in half then throw it behind you over your shoulder. kinda of a screw this, i'm done with this crap for the night. really satisfying.
