A Mordheim Beastmen warband.
All minis are from GW.
At first, base colours and blendings were applied using airbrush. Then came some heavy use of oil paints to reinforce highlights and shadows. Metal was then done with acrylics applied with brush, and some rust effects by airbrush and washes. In the end, minis were placed on our selfmade resin bases by my girlfriend Katerina cast in resin.
I accept comissions, please contact me if you are interested. All scales, single miniatures, groups, warbands or armies.

"But me no buts! Our comrades get hurt. Our friends die. Falkenburg is a knight who swore an oath to serve the church and to defend the weak. He'd be the first to tell you to stop puling and start planning. Because what we are doing-at risk to ourselves-is what we have sworn to do. The West relies on us. It is a risk we take with pride. It is an oath we honour. Even when some soft southern burgher mutters about us, we know the reason he sleeps soft and comfortable, why his wife is able to complain about the price of cabbages as her most serious problem and why his children dare to throw dung and yell "Knot" when we pass. It's because we are what we are. For all our faults we stand for law and light.

Generally fantastic. However why are the tips of the horns darker than the base? If anything they should be darker the closer to the body and get progressively lighter. Considering how good the rest of the painting is, the horns stand out as a misstep.

Unfortunately, I have to agree about the horns. That being said, even if they aren't perfectly anatomically correct, they still look fantastic. These are fantastically painted, and if I had commissioned them, I wouldn't have any complaints.

Fantastic job. I love beastmen, and yours are some of the best I've seen. As for the horns, plenty of animals in the real world have horns darker at the tips, most notably longhorns as well as most African antelope species. Too many miniature painters I've noticed base what they believe to be fact to be simply what they've seen on other miniatures instead of looking at the real world. Besides, this is fantasy and the contrast of the horns being lighter near the head works much much better from an artistic standpoint so don't bother changing a thing your warband is pure awesomeness. I will endeavor to get my blends as smooth as yours!!

Wow, excellent painting! Very well done.

Life is like a box of chocolates. A cheap, thoughtless and perfunctory gift nobody ever asked for. Unreturnable because all you get back is another box of chocolates. So you're stuck with this undefinable whipped mint crap that you mindlessly wolf down because there's nothing left to drink. Sure once in a while there's a peanut butter cup or a English toffee, but they're gone too fast and the taste is fleeting. So you end up with nothing but broken bits of hardened jelly and teeth shattering nuts. If you're desperate enough to eat those all you've got left is a. An empty box, filled with useless brown paper wrappers. |

They look really good. I always liked the beastmen warband & wondered why they weren't included as one of the original warbands since they were in the comic strips. BTW can we get a shot of the last guy from his left? He looks like he's on the phone lol.

Looks cool!
As for horns, not always they are darker at the base and lighter at the tip:
