What are your thoughts on using alternative models with the same rules as another character, and what are some examples where you have done so?

I am somewhat worried i wont be able to use this, but for my custom salamanders offshoot army, i have gotten the pictured model to replace Vulkan He'stan as an HQ.

I am 100% fine with it, as it adds more flavour to an army. I haven't seen it done before but have heard of it being done.

Inside your mind, corrupting the pathways

Scibor, puppets of war and many other companies make bits and whole models which can easily be used for this. I have zero issue with it as long as it fits the theme of the army.
