Hello everyone just looking for some CC on the models I painted to start off my Blood Angels army. Looking to make this a good looking force, spend plenty of time painting and making custom bases to make everything unique. I know the pictures are a bit blurry (thanks top quality camera) but most of the detail is there. Thanks for looking!

It all looks really great! I think if you want to do more, I would drill out the hand flamer barrels and then do some scorching on the tips.

Thank you for your comments! I really wanted to drill the barrels but my drill bit is to big :-( Once i get a smaller one the scorch marks are going on I promise! Im glad you liked them and thanks again!

There is not this idea.

Blurry pictures, but the details come through well anyway, and they are quite good. I like the custom bases, but do you plan to paint the sides of them?

For the sake of legality, can you use two hand flamers?

Really like the painting standard on these! A full force of them would look brilliant..

Now I don't wanna be 'that guy', but i am only pointing this out since you made the point of saying you want to spend as long a you can to make them look good etc etc. I think typically on a Space Marine the left shoulder pad is for the chapter badge (ie the blood drop and wings) and the right is for the Squad marking (be it a number or the troop symbol or what ever marking you roll with)... someone correct me if I am wrong here!

..On the other hand it might just be your sarge that is rocking a chapter badge on his right pad given he has that big gold one on his left.

Hey with regards to the side of your bases, I do all of mine just solid black (generally means if some rubs away while gaming it wont matter as it started black anyway)...

If you really dont want black then id do them what ever you used for the base colour of your the base.

The best way to do it, IMHO, is to base it the majority color of the ground on whatever your gaming table is at. So if it's mostly grass, a brown for the dirty underneath. If it's mostly urban warfare, something muddy or even possibly a dark grey looks good.

Match the ground that'd be underneath your base, basically. Makes the models look a little more complete when actually being played.

When I first saw the Sargent, I wondered "What weapons are he holding?"
He is holding a hand flamer. 2 of them.
Looks good!

I contemplated the base-edge-colour dilemma recently, too. In the end I decided on black because it's neutral and will work on any colour or style of gaming surface. Also, it avoids chipping blunders like sm3g pointed out. I also wanted the base and model to float above a negative space... If that makes sense?
