I'm curious to see what people out there have as chaos rapiers. Also Juggerlords, because most of them on google are like golden demon stuff and I'd like to see what is actually played lol.
I only play at 1000 points so these two are sufficient for me. I based it off of the Forgeworld rapiers. One is a bit broader to accommodate the gun better. The thinner one worked, but it was a tight fit, since I didn't measure with the added cables and ammo belt.

And theJugger lord, Quality isn't as good because I already primed him black and it was difficult to see any detail on pictures

Love the cloak and you just gave me an idea. I never bothered with modelling the sigil, but now I'm thinking some kind of badass shield could easily work as sigil.

Seems that most people use the fantasy kit for their lord. As much as I like the kit I can't help but get a fantasy vibe from that model, which is why I went with the 40k crushers instead. Not sure what to do with the rest of the kit now though XD.

Ans still nobody with a rapier lol? Are they not as popular as I thought they would be?

The idea with the sigil of corruption as a shield, is really good.
It makes sense that it would protect you on top of your armor save.

I can see why you get the vibe from fantasy, as i only gave a helmet, shoulderpad and axe from 40k.
I didnt want to give a backpack yet, im not ready, because i think it would spoil his nice cape.

Also, there is so much detail on his legs that i dont want to cover up, so i imagine it is powerarmor that has lots of detailing done by an artificer or something.

I dont like his strap across his chest, and would like to make the chest more 40k.

Yes, its from Imperial Armour 13, War Machines of the Lost and the Damned. The space marines have it too, with slightly different rules and weapons though. Also from forgeworld. Basically allows you to take suped up heavy weapons on foot. Like laser destroyers instead of laser cannons or quad heavy bolters. Or as in my case, Hades autocannons...buit on marines with bs4 . They're pretty good imho, but forgeworld doesn't actually sell a chaos variant.

Nice Pic. I totally get why people use some of the fantasy kits for 40k. It's just that haven't found any kit yet that doesn't look like a converted medieval knight. From that point on I see only a fantasy model lol. Even if it's just the boots XD I guess I'm weird like that

I would have preferred to put a cape on mine in addition to the pelt around his waist, but I didn't feel confident I could pull it off. More so now seeing that draped coat. I forgot I had some spacewolf coats from a friend though lol, that probably would have made things easier.

I like the idea of rapiers, but i will stay away from forgeworld myself because of the extra rulebook and their prices.

I dont mind others using it though.


I like your chaoslord, he has a nice pose and all that.
The pelt should be enough really, but its a little hard to see the details very well.

Perhaps if you drybrushed a little, just a few really dry strokes to bring out some details, then we could see better.

Thanks and yes, it's tough enough to see the details in RL lol. I had to hold him up to the light to even get any detail at all to show.

I'm pretty notorious for not painting my stuff XD. The furthest I get is priming, if that -_-. I'm seriously considering to just have my stuff painted by somebody else. I have kits from 3rd edition that still aren't painted.

I was like one quarter into painting my sisters, but then the white dwarf codex happened and I kinda lost interest in them. Haven't touched a paintbrush since. And there's always some kit lying around that I prefer to build instead of painting.

Though if/when a friend of mine finishes painting his necron that he just started. I'll be the last guy to play with the "Gray Legion" sub-chapter, the "The sons of Base Coat". So yea...I'l kinda be forced to slap some paint on my models XD

Just take half an hour and put some gold trim, then some metal on the weapons, and it will look much more done, and can pass for painted if you put them in squads.

You said something about letting others paint for you, and i got an idea, how about if somebody wants to paint, but cant buy the model for some reason. Then you could send it to them, they can paint it, borrow it for one month, then send it back.
Im going to start a new thread about this now.

About which I'm curious how you achieved the worn blade. Is that all plasticard or did you sculpt that effect onto a piece of plasticard? Because I was looking to use a that kind of effect to convert vehicles maybe.
