Hey Gang,

Still a ways to go but here is my ork tellyporta. Thinking of modeling a killa kan or an ork being zapped in. Anyone have tips on modeling electricity with greenstuff or any other materials?

Inspiration from the link below

Tork for scale.

Check out plant roots. They have the natural organic shape that branches as lightning would. Reinforced and intertwined with floral wire and left to dry you can get some awesome results.

Also, awesome teleporta, that is awesomely orky!

That is incredible! . I can't imagine how many hours are in that, but let me say, it looks fething badass!

Can I ask, what kits were used? I assume plenty of plasticard to?

I love all the zapping gubbins and bits and pieces I second going for some lightning! that would really finish it off!

Not a bad idea! I'll look into that for the coils. For the model it'self, I want it to look like it's partially materializing, so missing limbs and such as if they have not yet been fully formed.

Plasticard for the general profile. household items like hairspray caps, bendy straws, and half a ping pong ball.

As for the bits, I honestly don't know what half of this stuff is from. I used some hoses and backpacks from burna boys. I think two of the tesla's sticking the air are from a laser fence from the Mccrag kit. besides that I tend to buy up a lot of SM / AM bits so I'm really not sure what they are from.

I wound up using styrene rods and a lighter to warp and bend them in different directions. The gauge is a little larger than whet I wanted to use, but I think it worked out more or less in the end.

Update, painted the arc since it will be a seperate piece in case i want to make it interchangable with something else. Starting work on the platform now.

Honestly I feel like it doesn't need an action happening under it. It really does look perfect alone. If I were you I'd invest all my time in crafting an environment for it to be in so that maybe one day you could have an Ork Space Hulk table that all your friends will be jealous of. Eh, nevermind. I tend to project myself too much on the achievements on others.

Finished modeling the base and did a quick metalic coat. Still plenty of painting to go!

I tried my hand at OSL and I think it came out "ok" but probably should have used more of a neon green.

Thinking of adding the OSL down on the platform as well but wanted to get some input from you all first.

Only downside is that angles like this make it very difficult to see that there is even a glow effect.

A fantastic piece, love the paint job as well .
As for the OSL I think it looks great, and I agree it does need some subtle reflective lighting on the floor.

This is fantastic! It looks amazing, and I'm enjoying scanning over the construction to identify little bits used in it. You've used non-ork bits sparingly, but well, suggesting actual "looting" and not "I have a spare kit and want to use it". The paintjob is really good and doesn't distract from the build.

My only suggestion would be some ork glyphs painted on it as 'hazard markings'. I might suggest the glyphs "Warp Gubbins" (pretty obvious), "Mek Wazza Rukk" (technology for fast attacks), or the reliable "Zog Og Mek" (beat it! This belongs to the mechanic!).

It just looks awesome!

Thanks for the kind words everyone!

Ok so I'm going to finish up some little details, add some glyphs, and finish off the glow effect on the platform.

My next update will likely be the finished product.

Thanks again!
