I'll echo the majority here.
The Talon is terribad, it looks like it belongs in a Happy Meal, not a premium $45 kit. I don't think I could stomach buying any, although I own 3 SM armies.
The Bommers are nice enough, although I wish they were more angular, like the FW version, to be more easily replicated in plasticard. Like others, I worry about the seeming lack of anti-tank options. I'll get 2-3 kits for sure.
The Scythe is pretty cool if you don't mind the croissant shape, but we've had many years to get used to that. If I played Necrons, I wouldn't have any problem buying these. Automatically Appended Next Post: Oh, I'm probably not the only one thinking this... WHO DO I HAVE TO KILL TO SEE PAGE 70?

Not a fan of the Storm Talon, though I love the Scythe. The Orc jets are safe enough standard plane designs to be appreciated by most.
Shame about the Talon, I really wanted to like that

So Space Marines get the GI Joe Skyhawk and the Orks get the Cobra Rattler?
Maybe this is actually the "Summer of models inspired by old toys" and instead of a flyer the Eldar will get Dino-Rider Exodites.

I have to say that the Storm Talon has grown on me.
I do think that the bottom turret is way to large for the model, but I kind of respect GW for picking a theme for Marine flyers that matches the rest of their vehicles and totally running with it.
When the Thunderhawk was the only SM flyer, I always wondered where the heck the SM air superiority craft were. Surely they couldn't always count on Navy air support during planetary invasions so I knew by the fluff they had to have something. Then FW produced the Land Speeder Tempest and that kind of fit the bill, but always felt compared to the rest of FW's flyers that it seemed totally outgunned and outclassed by every other faction, which is *not* how marines are supposed to go into battle, whether on land or in the air.
So when the Stormraven came out, as much as its ridiculous proportions scream that it could never actually fly, it works to me because it represents exactly how marines go to war: They don't have agility or stealth, they just have superior armor and guns and they're willing to trade blows with you knowing that they can take it but you won't be able to.
As Jes said in the WD introducing the Stormraven, its just looks like a flying 'fist' or even a brick, because that's the fighting mentality of the Space Marine in 40k.
So to me the Storm Talon is the perfect fit to this concept. Its is ALL armor and guns in a ridiculous package that could only fly if its engines just provide an insane amount of thrust to the point where the thing is pretty much like a guided rocket...and that's really how all the SM flyers from the Stormraven to the Thunderhawk would have to function because they are so aerodynamically preposterous.
So yeah, I'm a big fan of the Storm Talon and all its ridiculousness...it works for the same reason Space Marine power armor with giant shoulder pads and leg protection works as well. It is OTT goodness!

I actually like the Stormtalon. Sadly it only seems to be for Codex: Space Marines. Would have loved to make a 'GK Air Cav' list with a Stormraven and 2 Stormtalon escorts. Heck, more than 2 Fast Attack options would have been nice.
Alas, it was not to be so. :(

I like the Stormtalon. It doesn't look a lot like other Marine vehicles, maybe that's why. The asthetic reminds me of gunships from Avatar or Mass Effect.
And another Ork vehicle that looks perfectly fine on it's own, but I just HAVE to convert it! I just don't know how yet.

The Talon is pathetic. The underslung gun is way too big, and the boxes for the other weapons are oversized. It looks comically bad. The Necron ones are fine. I neither like nor dislike them. There's nothing wrong with them. The Ork Bombaz are great! Love 'em!

The Ork flier looks like the old Fighta-Bomma from 3rd edition, very Orky. The Necron flier looks precisely like the illustrations in the codex. The Talon does fit the aethestic of the Thunderhawk and Stormraven, but the weapons pods do look a bit out of scale. And did anyone notice the front landing gear is part of the assault cannon carriage? If us Dark Angels get these, I may have some redesigning to do... Caliban-pattern?

I realy like the Scythe and the Ork fightas/bombas.
I think the Bomba is great with the array of bombs under its wings and the little rotating turret on its back.
Less convinced on the Storm Talon, it might grow on me however like the Storm Raven did. Who knows.

Probably just a proportionality and/or aesthetic thing.
Some people love for example the DE ravager as a model, I dont but thats simply aesthetics

Only from the front. It still leaves it ridiculously front heavy. Moving the engines as I mentioned before might help that, but i'm holding off judgement there until I see the actual kit.

No, just because the guns ate hideously oversized even by space marine standards and the engines are too far behind the apparent centre of gravity for it to be remotely feasible as a hover-capable unit. The Storm Raven at least had balancing jets.
The fact that it lands on its forward guns with nothing apparently to hold up the rear doesn't help, either.

What if you removed those huge assault cannons and used ones from the Land Speeder. The are smaller and still have the right look. I agree that the bottom turret is too big. And I like the idea of changing around some of the components. I like it, I just think we can make it look better.

I hate both it and the Stormraven because their fuselages are too short. They don't need to be as long as real aeroplanes, but they need to not look like stubby playschool toys.

The Talon is horrible. It's a fundamentally broken design and I'm not sure if it can be salvaged at all. The Raven, despite having a ton of unnecessary stuff attached for no good reason and being generally unbalanced, was at least in line with the overall design aesthetic for SM vehicles - a box on legs/tracks/wings. This thing isn't. Not even close. The angles are all over the place, the canopy looks ridiculous (and out of place for a SM vehicle), the weapons are hideously inflated.
It's a disaster, pure and simple. The worst vehicle GW ever made.
