Nah, that looks like a heroic head on the Statuesque body I think... I don't think the regular sized heads are that big. Not sure though, but most of mine are more akin to the heads you saw on Infinity miniatures pre-scale change.

Fair enough then I am just going off what I remember of mine and they seemed smaller. Might have been because I was more used to seeing non-helmeted heads.

This week I received a full restock of the Pulp Alley books and cards. Since I'd left it far too long before ordering the restock I decided to offer 10% off across the range, so now is the perfect time to grab a copy of this great game or to order that expansion you've been eyeing up.

And while you're there, why not check out the Pulp Alley and Statuesque Asylum miniatures ranges which can be purchased with Pulp Alley character cards ready to use in your games!

This offer will run until the 31st of August 2015 or while stocks last.

Any chance I could talk you into sculpting some heads like those but with crew cuts or really short hair styles?

Keep up the great work!!!!!

@ General Hobbs: Glad to hear you like them. I need to make another sprue of just hairstyles, no accessories, so I'll likely add some shorter styles to that.

Statuesque Miniatures is pleased to announce we are taking Pre-Orders for the new Pulp Alley supplement Pulp Leagues, along with the new Pulp Alley Roster Pack. In addition, I have extended the 10% Off Sale on all Pulp Alley books and cards until the 1st of October 2015!

As well as introducing some new rules, the Pulp Leagues book is also a compilation of all Pulp Alley character types, perks, abilities, and resources previously published in the rulebook and expansions. In addition, Pulp Leagues includes tons of fun optional rules for playing all kinds of pulp genres — including sci-fi, fantasy, old west, horror, swashbuckling and more!

As a Pre-Order Special Offer, the Pulp Leagues book is available for only £11.25, saving 10%.

Character cards are a great way to record your Pulp Alley characters and leagues, making it fast and easy to switch characters from one scenario to the next. Character cards also provide a good location to place counters, injury markers, Reward cards, and so on. Character cards can also be helpful for clearly indicating which characters have activated (turned sideways) and who is currently down (flipped over).

Each Pulp Alley Roster Pack includes 15 blank cards for creating your own Pulp Alley leagues and characters (2x blank Roster Cards, 2x blank Leader cards, 2x blank Sidekick cards, 3x blank Ally cards, 3x blank Follower cards, 3x blank Gang cards).

Available now as a Pre-Order, the Pulp Alley Roster Pack is priced at £4.75.

These offers will run until the 1st of October 2015. Please note that any orders containing a pre-order item will not be posted until the 1st of October 2015.

Hi Andrew

I'd like to use some resistance fighters as an not-escher gang in necromunda. Is there any chance of getting some with knives, swords or other close combat weapons, and/or more pistols?

Anyone else got any good ideas of where to get bits to add these kind of things to the existing models?

The pulp accessories basically fit on the resistance girls (they're a little over sized, but not hugely)

http://www.statuesqueminiatures.co.uk/p/9048724/paw001-pulp-alley-weapons-1.html

(worth getting one to see if you'll be able to live with the scale change)

for knives/swords I'd probably make my own from sheet plasticard (as long as I didn't want a chain sword/knife)

I just noticed you offer bald heads for females in heroic scale! I can use those for crew cut or buzz cut soldiers!

Over on Facebook I posted this preview of some new sprues:

I have reworked and resized all the existing Heroic Scale Female Heads to Fine Scale (which match the size of my existing Resistance Fighter heads) and Pulp Scale (which match my Pulp ranges). All these sprues will have 'conventional' neck attachments like the Heroic Scale heads for easy conversions.

Hopefully these three sizes will allow you to find the right head for the job. The Pulp Scale in particular should cover a wide variety of ranges. I'm expecting to receive the prints next week and I'll post further images then. Obviously sales are still some months away, but I thought I'd let you all know what was coming.

I've also been working on another sprue of 'standard' heads with hairstyles (ever popular!) that will be launched in all three sizes from the off. I've taken the opportunity to introduce more variety of facial types on this set of sprues.

@Seventyone: Sorry I missed your question until now. I really need to get on and do a sprue of weapons like the Pulp Alley set that have female hands. Those would match the Resistance Fighters. As for third parties, perhaps you could get some spare parts from the Wargames Factory apocalypse women set? Those might be of a suitable size.

Statuesque Miniatures and Pulp Alley are pleased to announce the Pre-Order of a new Pulp Alley Miniatures pack – Ramjeet Singh and Bosun, our second set of Sidekicks.

"Stoic and enigmatic, Ramjeet Singh seldom leaves Minerva’s side. Bound by his own strange code of honour, Ramjeet’s steely stare and imposing stance are a clear warning to any who would cross his mistress.

"Bosun is first-mate of the SS Vento. Since her rescue from South-Seas slavers, she has been unshakably loyal to Captain Wolf – risking her own life countless times to save him from native headhunters, customs officers, and jealous lovers alike."

As a Pre-Order Special Offer, Ramjeet Singh and Bosun are priced at £6 for the pair, saving 20%.

The figures are also available from Pulp Alley in the US for $9.75, saving $2.

The Pulp Alley Phantom Pack cards are based on some of Dave and Mila's favourite and most popular Phantom Agent reward cards from 2014 and 2015, printed on premium stock to match the high quality Fortune Deck and other cards.

Each pack includes:
2 x Red Herring cards
4 x Reward cards
9 x Fortune cards

As a Pre-Order Special Offer, the Pulp Alley Phantom Pack is priced at £4.75.

Also new this month are the Leaders and Sidekicks combo packs. Phantom Ace and Pulp Girl are joined by their respective Sidekicks Gauge and Mak O'Reilly in the Pulp Heroes and Heroines pack, while Captain Wolf and Minerva team up with Bosun and Ramjeet in Pulp Pirates and Mercenaries.

Pulp Heroes and Heroines and Pulp Pirates and Mercenaries are priced at £13.50, saving £1.50 over purchasing these figures separately.

Any order containing this Pre-Order item will be posted by the 11th of December 2015. The special offer price also runs until the 11th of December.

That was quick! Here's the full blurb...

Statuesque Miniatures is pleased to announce the release of three new products.

"Professor Felicity Poppington has been investigating the stories surrounding Statuesque Asylum for some time, interviewing former patients and staff to hear their tales of horror and dread. Now she must cross the threshold and discover for herself what hides in the shadows of this benighted place.”

First up we have Professor Felicity Poppington, a new addition to the Statuesque Asylum range of pulp figures.

Professor Felicity Poppington is priced at £4 and is available to buy now.

Next we have two new sprues of female heads. In addition to the ever popular Heroic Scale Female Heads range, we now have two new sizes of heads with which you can convert your figures. Check out my blog for various comparison pictures of Statuesque miniatures and accessories alongside other ranges.

The Fine Scale Female Heads are designed to match the size of the Statuesque Sci-fi range and are priced at £4.50 for 10 heads.

The existing Fine Scale Resistance Fighter range of heads have long been used by customers to convert various manufacturers' figures, particularly those that feature smaller, finer heads than most. These new heads expand on that range, giving more options for conversions.

The Pulp Scale Female Heads are designed to match the size of the Statuesque Asylum and Pulp Alley ranges, and are also priced at £4.50 for 10 heads.

I'm hopeful this new size of head sprue will prove popular. I consider them to be a pretty standard size of head - if such a thing can be said about miniature figures - and as such they can be used with a wide variety of figures of all genres. I've been busy converting various figures from my collection and will show the results on the Statuesque Miniatures Facebook page in the next few days.

So now there are three size ranges of Statuesque Miniatures Female Heads, so hopefully there will be something to meet your needs. Both the Fine Scale and Pulp Scale ranges will be expanded to feature all the options available in the Heroic Scale range -and more!

Thanks folks.

Now... Off with their heads!

As I said in the first post I'd been playing about lopping the heads off some figures from my collection to see how they looked with the new fine scale and pulp scale heads. Originally I used the master castings but today I replaced those with the actual production castings (which are a teeny tiny bit smaller than the masters) to give a true picture of the head sizes.

First up are the Pulp Scale Female Heads:

From left to right we have a Heresy Inspector, Statuesque/Pulp Alley Golgo Satana, Hasslefree Ekaterina and a Copplestone Swell Doll.

Next, some figures with the Fine Scale Female Heads:

From left to right: Red Box Katherine, Infinity Ghulam, Hasslefree Dione.

These were fairly simple conversions. If you pick a model with an appropriate collar you can just snip off the head, file the join point on the Statuesque head flat and pin in place. I haven't used any green stuff on these; perhaps a bit of liquid green stuff or a miliput wash around the join would totally hide it, but they work as they are I think.

Next up I'm going to try the heads on various plastic figures...

Here are some more figures I've been playing about with.

I know a lot of people have been doing some great conversions using the Heroic Scale Female Heads and Frostgrave plastic Soldiers, but I thought I'd see how the Pulp Scale Female Heads look with the plastic Cultists.

Bosun sizes up the Cult of the Pulp Scale Head while Dr Fang pulls the strings!

Tips for using the Pulp Scale Female Heads with Frostgrave Cultists:

1- Get a wee ball of putty (2mm approx) and flatten it into the neck socket on the figure so you have a circle of putty about 0.5mm in depth.
2- Nick a section in the front of the putty circle to create a collar.
3- Push your Pulp Scale Female Head into the putty collar, positioned as far back as possible.
4- Tidy up the collar a bit making sure some of the neck still shows (just so they don't look too swaddled in fabric).

That's it. Works rather nicely if I may say so myself. Obviously, you do have to take some care when positioning the heads, but putting them as far back as possible means the back is straightened compared to the standard male figures.

The Frostgrave Cultists are great little figures - really fun to assemble and you can make some great poses. Though I'm not sure I achieved this with the Cultist with the pistol. I imagine her shouting 'Can everyone just calm the **** down, guys?!'.

Next I'll try the Frostgrave Soldiers. I'm not so sure how they'll look (mainly because of their chunky leg wraps!) but it's worth a shot. And I've also got some Perry Foot Knights to try out.

Thanks Mathieu. More heads coming in a few weeks!

I've just made these using some plastic Perry Foot Knights. Lady knights! Sir Susan? Dame Janet?Lady Lucy?

Very nice plastics, not half as fiddly as I expected and very easy to clean mould lines. Recommended!

So here's the test with both the Fine Scale Female Heads (three on the left) and Pulp Scale Female Heads (three on the right).

Closer shot of the Fine Scale Female Heads:

Closer shot of the Pulp Scale Female Heads:

Here are my tips for lady knights:

1- Glue the arms on to the bodies first to avoid part clashes (though leave off the scabbards or you might bend them like my clumsy fingers did).
2- Flatten a 1-1.5mm ball of putty into the neck socket of the body.
3- Press your head of choice into the putty, as far back as possible looks best I reckon.
4- Tidy up the putty so it looks like a collar. I attempted to make it look like chain mail but in hindsight I should have just left it as leather as my chain mail leaves a bit to be desired...

Personally, I think both sizes of heads work quite nicely. The Fine Scale heads match the original Perry heads for scale, so if I were mixing those in a unit I'd use the Fine Scale heads.

Meanwhile, as well as being a bit bigger, the Pulp Scale heads are proportionally a bit wider meaning they visually narrow the shoulders a bit, perhaps making the figure look a bit more feminine. The larger heads will match most fantasy ranges quite well too - they're a good match for Frostgrave plastics. As such the Pulp Scale heads would be my choice for fantasy lady knights in a warband mixing various manufacturers' figures.

Hope that helps!

Any chance of a...heads up on what they might be or look like?

I'm going to order some heads this week regardless but wouldn't mind knowing what's coming before I attach them to bodies ideally in case these new ones are more what I'm looking for.

If you say mohawks I'll definitely be waiting!

I'm looking at the resistance fighter line and I'm wondering if there will be additional weapon sets forthcoming for them (sci-fi types, energy weapons and that, or steampunk) at all?

Or has anyone seen them converted with such?

http://statuesqueminiatures.mobile034.com/p/8462934/sm012-lila-of-the-resistance---sniper.html that lady comes with a plasma weapon. I think it's the 3rd picture. I can't link it from my phone. Anyways, I have her and she looks great with both weapon options. I've been trying to magnetize her wrists so i can use both options. I'll see if i can post a comparison photo betweem her plasma gun and a gw lasgun. If i can find one around here as i'm reorganizing my collection.
