Ooh, I sense a cool new diorama in the making. Color me intrigued

Sorry for the lack of updates guys. Last Sunday was Mother's Day so I spent that cooking a meal for my mom, brother and dad. This Sunday I'm just dealing with some heartbreak and depression and couldn't bring myself to do anything. I'll have something for you next Sunday.

No pressure dude, I personally think its hard to get started, but sometimes it helps to just paint as it takes your mind off of whatevers bothering you.

Hey guys,

I've got something to post for you,. But, full disclosure, its not my Baneblade. My life is a little wonky at the moment (cheating GF) so I just wanted to paint something I could see immediate progress on. That in mind, I've got two little somethings for you. Neither is complete though.

The first is another sergeant for what will eventually be a playable army (I think?).



I dug out an spare plasma rifle and gave it to him as a trophy of war.



Then I started to slap some paint on him. Its a little hard to make out, but that's a bit of a teal/turquoise color.



Some Caliban Green for the armor plates.



Then I finished up by coloring some details and painting the pulse rifle its primary color. (It will match my unfinished Tau army [I had a REAL bad habit of buying boxed armies back in the day just for the limited edition figure]).





But at the same time, I spied another model in my pile of things to paint that I thought would be a nice change of pace. Some of you might remember this lovely lady.



That is the Kickstarter exclusive Female A-Bomb Abomination for Zombicide Season 3. Some of you also might recall the male one I painted up a bit ago.



This one seems a LOT less armor though. So, I started off with a coat of Rakarth Flesh to give her that look of the freshly zombified.



Then I thought, it looks like she's wearing a dress of some kind. I'll paint it like that.



Now here is where I probably jumped the shark. I didn't have the male A-Bomb so I didn't remember making all that armor plating gray. Also... that's probably armor on her chest.... but... well...



I mean... I can repaint it, but its kinda funny? Right?



Anyway, I used my finest detail brush and picked out the veins I could see in Liche Purple (or whatever its called now).



Then I gave her a liberal wash of Reikland Fleshshade





I'll go back and paint the armor plates gray next week, but what do you guys think of her bra? Should I leave it pink or turn it into gray plating with everything else?

When in the dulldrums paint a zombie

I understand the hurt feeling, I had a girlfriend get knocked up (by another guy) while on vacation. I had bought an engagement ring for when she got back, but she kept dodging me until we broke up. Saw her and the baby 9 months later and figured it out . It sucks now, but I met my wife a couple years after that, so it all worked out for the better (so my wife says)

Never anger the missus.

It just sucks. I'm apparently piss poor at picking girlfriends. They all end equally poorly for me. So for now, I think I'm done. I'm not gonna try and then I won't be hurt when more stupid bs happens.

And yes, painting the zombie did help. Its nice to see work progress quickly, whereas the tank has dragged on for so long now.

That's how I landed my wife , I stopped looking and started just enjoying my life, work and friends. Met her at work, dated 3 months, got engaged and married 6 months later. Just celebrated 15 year anniversary a few months back. When you stop trying so hard to please them then your real self shows and the right one will come along, or not but you'll still be having more fun.

So, looking at the old male zombie. I used antonian camoshade on it, not reikland fleshshade. Here's hoping I can overlap the two without much issue.

From an Ork player I suspect said underwear is suitably horrific too. My condolences

I think I will leave the pink bra as is. It adds to the ridiculous of the model (plus what does it hurt, right?)

I think it's perfect so leave it as is matey.

Just as a heads up. August I will be going to GenCon. While there I will be taking a Green Stuff sculpting class from none other than Joe Orteza himself. If you don't know who Joe Orteza is, SHAME ON YOU!

He's the mad genius capable of this.



Hopefully with this class under my belt I can truly get into some nifty customizationing.

you should practise as much as you can before you go, just so you have a strong grounding in the area of GS.
also I would say don't buy a sculpting tool, buy a clay shaper. 1000x better IMO

Its a beginners class. He will also be giving us tools and green stuff to use.

Hey kids!

Behold! I've got some more of the Banebl-... No... no I don't. I've got more other things for you. Before you string me up by my toes, I just want to say that it was entirely Cam's fault.

That said, I went back and painted the chest of my A-bombshell the same gray as the mail variant.



After that I made sure to put antonion camoshade over the entire thing and bloody it up a bit.



Well, a lot a bit....



But these things are pretty damn scary in the game. Takes A LOT to kill them.



Then I added a bit of nuln oil to the armor plates.



As well as a little bit of gold to pick out the detail.



Awww, look, she wants to hold your hand!



Then I finished her off with a healthy (or unhealthy) dose of Nurgle's Rot for drool.






I present to you, Vinz Clortho and Zuul.



Let's start off with Zuul shall we?



I added a health coat of Gothor Brown.



I think it really matches the brown of the movie well.



From there I gave the whole thing a healthy coat of reikland fleshshade.



And you can't really see it, but I painted the interior of the mouth a nice maroon purple.





Next, onto Vinz Clortho.



I repeated the process that I pioneered with Zuul.



Now I'm aware the mold line is really intense there, but I didn't want to risk damaging the model. So you'll have to bear with me.









Let's finish off with pics of the pair, shall we?







What should I paint on the base- Wait a minute... are Vinz's eyes glowing???

Hey there my lovelies! I am back and, before you ask, no, I have not resumed the Baneblade just yet. I'm still distracted by other things. And as always, it is entirely Cam's fault

So here's what I have for you this evening. I looked at my Zombicide collection and opened up my Very Infected Persons pack and retrieved these guys.



We have the nurse.



The goth.



The butcher.



And the Player in a Management Profession.



Naturally I chose the P.I.M.P.



I painted his pants Slaanesh Grey and his vest Liche Purple. I started to painted the fringe of his coat bestigor flesh but it didnt quite mesh with the concept art.



So I mixed a bit of some other color (can't remember) with bleached bone and got a much closer result.



The coat itself is straight bleached bone.



For the flesh tone I did a bit of rakarth flesh and one of my brown paints (again, its super hard to keep gw names straight) to give me a slightly darker sickly zombie flesh tone. The hair is straight Rhinox Hide.



Next I added some color to the details. The chains, the belt buckle and the belt.



Time to ink it up!!! Nuln oil on the coat and drakenhoff nightshade on the clothes.



And a bit of fleshshade on the flesh.



And lastly, a bit of BFTBG to tie it all together.








Oh, and lastly, a little teaser of goodies I got recently.



Thoughts? Opinions? Criticisms?
