Unfortunately I was too slow to get a pic of it.

No doubt it was celebration of Back To The Future day.

I'm writing a load of fiction. My latest story starts here... This is the index of all the stories...

Yeah - they turned up in LA and Melbourne, as well.

The writer Matthew Reilly had a friend driving his (he's from Melbourne) while he was in LA doing stuff. His even has a flashing, glowing "flux capacitor" widget.

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.

That is not dead which can eternal lie ...

... and yet, with strange aeons, even death may die.

The "Twin Pines Mall" where Doc Brown first tests the Time Machine is a real mall in my area. The mall set up a fake Twin Pines sign and had Doc Brown's van (not sure if it was the actual prop van or a replica) and a Delorean there so people could get pictures. Pretty cool stuff. BTTF is one of my favorite movie series and I love how passionate others get about it as well.

Local news video of Twin Pines and the van if anyone is interested.

On an Express Elevator to Hell!!

Wow, that's awesome!

Someone who works a couple of miles down the road from where I live, usually see it parked up a couple of times a month

Of course you can still pick them up if you look around http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/delorean-dmc12-back-to-the-future-/331684041341?hash=item4d39e8d27d:g:yQ4AAOSwo0JWIjTc
(Got to love the price of that and they couldn't be bothered with the one photo that's on the listing).

I've heard that they're pretty ropey to drive (really heavy so not that fast by any definition of a sports car), but wow they do still look amazing don't they..

This was aparently organised by Pepsi; they'd managed to get 9 DeLorians out and about as taxis (via Uber or something).

Here in the States, you don't have to look around at all to get one, as there is a modern DeLorean Motor Company still going, selling the parts, and refurbishing and selling the cars.

Also, did anyone see the video of Michael J. Fox trying on the custom Nike Air Mags that were sent to him this week?

It didn't have the modifications on it. It looked like a stock model.

Of course he's stuck in London now, no chance of reaching 88mph and Marty/Doc probably got banged with a congestion charge fine toboot!

They're not exactly rare here. I see them more than I see a 69 Charger or a Alfa Romeo anything, that's for sure. Still just a great looking car. Always turns heads whenever one goes by.

It helps that I live in southern California. No salt on the roads in winter so the steel won't rust even half as easily. We have a lot of desert and mountain land far away from humidity where Deloreans thrive.

I see one driving around every once in a while, some local fella must have one. Never been a sports car guy but always liked that one, prolly cuz of the movie. Feels like they aways look too tiny when I see them in person. or maybe Michael J Fox is the tiny one, and he makes the car look bigger in the movies?

Deloreans are weet cars, Im so happy I got to drive one once.
Sadly, they are illegal to drive in a way. Very few reputable companies will insure it.

Are you talking insuring as a collector car or a regular driving vehicle?

This site is a bit old (2005), but claims that insuring a Delorean was not unreasonable. The guy got coverage for his purchase price ($20k).

Sharing this quote because it tickled my juvenile funny bone.
it's about $1000/year to insure my D. This includes collision, comprehensive, and the same liability coverage

huh, My Cousin(Who I trust because he is the type of person who you can point to a car and he will know make/year) said he looked into it and said very few will actually let you insure it for one the road.

Not to go squirrel too much, but a couple of months ago I saw a pristine Lotus convertible (At least it looked like one of those hard-top type convertibles...) in the parking lot of my local Walmart. I guess that's one of the ways you cut back to afford what must be astronomical payments.

WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!
