The Last Chancer Who Survived

Welp. TMG is out of buisness, right in the middle of my infantry order. So no more 40k proxies from them. OTOH, Vanguard Miniatures are picking up the slack. With more models, too!

Hmm. I guess this means those 6mm plastics are never going to happen.
Sad times for Ben and all their customers.

Well, that's not really accurate. From the sound of things Troublemaker have just stopped selling to retail and Vanguard are acting as a stockist.
On one hand it's not the doom and gloom that's assumed in the OP (there has been a plastics update with this news), though I realise it's not exactly flowers and sunshine either. (The update is that there's another production problem! D'oh!)

At least Onslaught is still thriving. Their stuff is awesome.

Vanguard Miniatures is hoping to buy Troublemaker Games outright. Basically the person running it was hit by a double whammy of a loss making Kickstarter and 5000 faulty sprues having to get the plastics recast again so he's decided to pursue other options. Personally I wish both him and Vanguard great success in the future as customer service has also been excellebt and the plastic fiasco has not been the fault of anybody at Troublemaker Games.

No they aren't! They just don't sell directly from their own site. Vanguard is the place to pick em up!

Sorry for the threadomancy here but help is needed. First of all, Troublemaker Games' Defeat in Detail range (DiD) is still available through Vanguard Games, and the range is being expanded.
However, Vanguard Games are looking for pictures of nicely painted/converted DiD models for their galleries and social media. If you have any models, please share the pics here.

Woohoo, thank you so much for this. I'll forward it.

Absolutely brilliant! Just got hold of some infantry from Vanguard and they are absolutely top notch, so good that they've taken on Troublemaker products as well.
Those pre-order prices undercut the ebay-shark rates by some margin and they look fantastic.

So what are people's thoughts on the Defeat in Detail stuff? I recently came into posession of the basic Adeptus Titanicus rules, and the Cybershadows versions of the Warlord and Reaver (and soon Warhound) would be a great way to play the game as it looks easy to magnetize their weapon options, and you can also keep the design aesthetic with their not- Baneblades and Shadowswords.
Shipping to the US suck, though.
Does anyone have a good review of the titan models, especially?

Check the bottom pic in this blogpost for a scale comparison between the Cybershadows Leviathan Stalker, GW's official warlord and the fan made models.

Wow, that's huge! Their "Reaver" is probably the size of the GW Warlord! At least that would make the price of a small force less of a hit.

I keep meaning to pick up the Spitefire and Lancastrians, but shipping to the US is a bit much.

That's my position, too. As awesome as it would be to get them, buying a Reaver and a Warlord with shipping at the current exchange rate seems like it'd set me back nearly 100 bucks.

Hmm, perhaps Vanguard Miniatures should search for a US distributor? For those of you on Tactical Command, please post about that over here.

I'm thinking of starting a more regular thread in the rumours section...
